Demeures d'Orient Riad & Spa

Wonderful few days. We have just returned after a 4 day stay at this beautiful Riad. Such an oasis of calm after the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff couldn’t have done more to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. Everyone so polite and friendly. The Riad is in a convenient location, tucked away just minutes from the souk. A 10 minute walk takes you to the Secret Garden and a further 10 minutes to Jemaa Square. This was our 3rd visit to Marrakesh and if we decide to return in the future we would definitely stay at this Riad again. Thoroughly recommend…it couldn’t have been more magical.

My wife and I stayed at the Demeures d’Orient Riad and Spa during our city break to Marrakech in March 2025. We were delighted to find such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay amid the bustle and noise of the city. This wonderful riad, run by three generations of the same family provides just 11 beautifully furnished and traditionally styled rooms on two levels around the central courtyard. The courtyard contains the heated swimming pool, and is also the location for breakfast and other meals to be served. A peaceful and pretty roof terrace is a fine place to relax with views across the city and towards the Atlas Mountains. The owners and staff are all extremely friendly and welcoming, and will help with any requests or enquiries about the city or excursions. Unfortunately I was unwell for a day or so during our stay (definitely not the fault of the riad, but caused by flying with an ear problem which affected my balance!), and the owners and staff were very concerned about my wellbeing. I was surprised to learn that they had been asking my wife regularly how I was, and when I felt better I was asked how I was feeling by everyone. Being a small establishment makes service much more personal, but I was genuinely touched by the concern for my health. It really did show that guests are valued and looked after by everyone at the riad. My wife made use of the spa facilities whilst we were there, and had a fabulous relaxing experience, which she recommends very highly! We dined at the riad, and the food was excellent. My personal favourite was breakfast, but that’s just because I love starting the day with coffee and a beautifully presented breakfast made with fresh ingredients. We can also recommend dinner, which was served in the candlelit courtyard, made from lovely fresh ingredients and offering a choice of tasty Moroccan flavours. We really enjoyed our stay at Demeures d’Orient, and intend to stay there again. Highly recommended!

We booked this last minute through easyJet. Which is something we’ve never done before, so weren’t sure of the quality or calibre of what our experience would be. We wanted some sun and a quiet relaxed place to stay. This lovely historic Riad delivered. Run by 3 generations of a family of French women, it is stylish and beautifully decorated without being gauche. With echoes to the 1920’s architecturally but with 2020’s facilities it is like being emerged in the decadence of a film set. From the crispy white bed linens to the bathrobes and shower gels - this Riad has you covered for comfort and luxury. There are 2 floors of rooms (with air con) all having large bedroom areas,living space and private bathrooms. The breakfast is varied and huge (kept us going most days till dinner in the evening) however you can eat lunch at the Riad too. The swimming pool is large, (for a Road pool) clean and inviting as well as the roof terrace where you can sit, sunbathe or relax in the shade on the sofas. The spa has the most amazing woman working there, whose smile brightens you let alone the incredible treatments she can offer. We had hanmam’s and massages and left feeling like a new person every time. We received incredible service from all the staff, even to ordering us taxi’s and recommending and booking restaurants for us. This was one of the most relaxing breaks we’ve ever experienced, as the hotel offered you great service without fuss and made you feel welcome but not hovered over. A fantastic retreat. Rooms amazing and staff very friendly. We had a lovely few days away in Marrakesh. This Road was perfect. Location great. A peaceful escape from the huddle and bustle of the souks. Food was delicious and service impeccable. Highly recommended

This was a really good place to stay. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. The rooms were spotless. They were kind enough to also upgrade us to a main suite. The riad is unbelievable. Just as advertised. The views from the top floor are so good with the Atlas Mountains in the back ground. The location is perfect and the food was excellent. Loved the trees around the pool. Thank you for a lovely stay. Food is great. Special mention to the night porter who was such good fun and taught us some Arabic. I would certainly recommend it.

We absolutely loved our stay here, from the moment we arrived the service was amazing - the staff are so warm & friendly & can’t do enough for you. The Riad itself is stunning & even better at night, it’s the most romantic setting ever! It’s in the perfect location & walkable to all the best spots - although set back from the main road so still quiet & peaceful once inside. The pool is a bonus, a great way to cool off in the heat & sunsets from the roof terrance are epic. We had a traditional gamma in the beautiful spa which was so relaxing. Our room was gorgeous, so spacious & such a comfy bed. Thanks for an amazing stay! We will be back again 10/10!
