The Hotel Paisano

I love historic hotels, and this hotel did not disappoint. Very nice atmosphere and lots of places to just chill out. Rooms are nice but there seems just to be something missing about the overall experience at this hotel. The on-site restaurant does not offer breakfast just dinner and their reviews for service are terrible.

Have been here for cocktails and dinner, several times but got to stay this time. Front desk is amazing!! Restaurant servers are super short staffed and try to do their best. Cocktails were tasty and food was delicious as usual! Love it here!

Very well maintained historic hotel. Just remember that the bathrooms are small as is the case with almost all hotels of this age. As of 10/2024, there is no elevator since they are replacing the original one. Courtyard is beautiful & relaxing. Food at Jett’s Grill is excellent & the bar is nice. Highly recommend this hotel.

If we had known that there was no elevator,we would have booked at a different hotel but we were not told until I asked. I was pissed! I am handicapped and my husband has a bad knee. The man who checked us in was very nice but he was the only one, the others were anything but...especially the man on the afternoon shift. There were no TV instructions and the young girl desk clerk had to turn on the shower for me. The gift shop was lacking and the restaurant is another story.

We wanted a unique, quirky, but high-end hotel in a unique, quirky but high-end town, and Hotel Paisano did not disappoint! Our fabulous room overlooked the entry courtyard, and had a wonderful small private patio. The hotel lobby, gift shops, and common areas are fascinating and comfortable, and the service was so friendly. We did not eat at the restaurant, but the drinks around the fountain for happy hour and live music were perfect. I love a pool, and this pool was sublime! Not too many guests, as we were there during a slow time, and the entire small pool area is surrounded by a large rock wall, making it feel private and secluded from the outside world. Don't expect perfection- it's old and that's part of the charm. The galleries were worth visiting and the Chinati foundation is MUCH better experienced in person! But be prepared to walk, and it can get very hot. The town itself is fun and filled with artistic shops, restaurants, and galleries. It is more upscale, and definitely more expensive, than we expected. Think Palm Springs but smaller, quirkier, and sort of western/minimalist, if that makes sense! lol. Make sure you go thursday-sunday, a lot is closed monday-wednesday. A really cool destination getaway!

This was a totally unexpected experience. I loved this hotel: it has an old vine, but all new features sometimes w the old ones still there ( bath tub faucet). Our room had a nice fridge, microwave and 2 small bathrooms. There is indeed no elevator but the stairs were not steep. I really appreciated all the couches to sit in downstairs. Very cozy. The restaurant was maybe less good as I thought: few vegetarian options and the pork was not well cooked although we had to wait a long time. There is no laundry mat but there I’d one very good at 3 min from the hotel and we had a nice coffee in a very cool place 5 min walk. I really recommend the hotel and hope to come back

Beautiful, historic hotel but they don’t tell you there’s construction going on inside and outside starting at 7:30 am until 5:00 pm Very, very loud. Cement work in alley below and drills working in nearby rooms. They should either be closed or at least warn visitors

The hotel is beautiful. Rooms are small, but it is a historical hotel. Balcony with fireplace was great. Only complaint is the pool could be great, but unfortunately it wasn't. It was dirty and freezing cold in 90+ degree weather. Lobby, courtyard, everything else was great.

The hotel is wonderful, our room is beautiful, but the staff are an icy lot! I called to let them know of our late arrival and I got barked at by an angry man. I apologized and I brushed it off. We were greeted by a rather morose young man when we arrived, and went to our room feeling bad for being late. I brushed it off. I rang the bell at the front desk yesterday and incurred the wrath of an employee despite my sincere apology for having disturbed him. The ladies in the gift shop were less angry than the front desk man, but they delivered a palpable frost. So, come here if you are looking for a Texas-sized helping of resentment.
