Quinta do Mar - Country & Sea Village

So much to unpack here. I want to be fair and say the staff is kind, professional but not helpful because it is not their responsibility. The location is also in need of maintenance! But : what you see online is not what you get. The shape and quality of the accommodations aren’t great, we did sleep on a ciment block that has a madras on it, door handlers may let you down and water drops on the sink could keep you up at night! The door handlers are loose and the drive way to pack the car is full of holes. The shower....don't even go.

5 night stay end May beginning of July 2024. One bedroom terrace garden view terrace room with bathroom- bed and breakfast. Room with no window only balcony door with no bug net so no option to keep them open for night to get fresh air. Air-conditioning extreemly old made so much noise that could not have it on. Comfortble bed but very dated blanket. Room small, damp and very dated. Bathroom with smll window and shower over bath. All requires proper deep clean. Mould all over as on picture. Room was not clead throughout the whole stay- only rubbish takennout. Last day dropped hearband to the floor and found tomato under cupboard- not mine. Terrce with no sun launger. As well overtaken by ants so possibly would not be able to sit there anyway. Gardens very pleasant with beautifull flowers. Used only one swimming pool- good size but again not seen anyone maintaining it in the morning. This was possibly a very good resourte about 15 years ago but lacks of maintenance, renovation and cleaning. Breakfast- good coffee, nice staff. No heathy hot options. Boiled cold egg, scrmble and bacon...to many cakes to little healthy food. Good porridge and fruit. Location very remote, really enjoyed birds singing and clifs walk on your backyard. Will not be coming back, shame as looked really different and appealing on photos.

We have been coming here since 2016 and it’s still fabulous. Yes it’s basic but there are 3 pools and the breakfast is delicious. The family have really been trying to renovate which you can see from the pictures. A car is a must here as it is literally in the middle of no where (what we like) I couldn’t get phone signal (again what we wanted) if you want a relaxed retreat then this is for you !

Such a beautiful resort. You can really be one with the nature that the Algarve gives you. Friendly people, good service, clean rooms, great views. Close to Luz, Lagos, Burgau, and many beautiful vlean beaches. Tip: Rent a car. We will absolutely go back again.

Very disappointed at what probably was once a charming and well.maintained ‘estate’ but which currently is totally dishevelled and very shabby- the sadness is that it could be a genuinely 4-5 star complex but now just manages a 2 star rating. With a properly staffed and motivated management it should be worth revisiting …at present it most certainly is not !

While situated in a stunning setting, this resort hasn’t been upgraded since the 70’s judging by the cabin standards. Dangerous electrical outlets, dirty ( impossible to clean really) and what passes as an equipped kitchen was a joke. Poor breakfast.
