Four Stars Hotel

Budget priced room in a useful location for me. It was clean. The staff were friendly. There was an en-suite. There was a working tv. It didn't smell. Reasonably quiet. It was pretty much as you'd expect for a budget hotel. The room is small, but adequate. There is a decent window with a view of the street. The en-suite with shower is very cramped, but can be used. The lights and sockets work, and are in reasonably useful places. Room key had to be handed in before going out, with the assurance that there was always someone on the desk 24 hours. Of course, when I got back at around 10.30 in the evening, there was no staff at reception, just a note pinned to the outside door saying they would be back in five minutes. After about five minutes another guest appeared and let me in. After another few minutes a member of staff turned up at the desk to give me my key. As this is a budget hotel I expected stairs. However, the last flight of stairs are very small and twisty with no adequate banister. I didn't like going up and down them. There was a bar of soap, but no shampoo. There was no kettle or tea bags. The duvet was rather light and small, so I woke up cold a number of times. As it was the fifth floor with a tricky flight of stairs, I didn't fancy going down to ask for an extra blanket. All in all it was an acceptable room for the price. If staying here again, I would request a blanket, and a lower floor. I am unlikely to stay here again though as I didn't like being kept waiting outside the hotel when I wanted to go to my room to sleep. I'd prefer to keep my key and be in control of letting myself in.

No fills basic and small room but clean. Decent en-suite module in room. Excellent value and good location. Turned up with a *********** reservation for 2024 a year early (!) but they fitted me in. Recommend if you need somewhere cheap and basic for a stay in London.

Friendly welcome from staff but that's the only good thing. No lights on the staircases, especially on the top floor. Dark, dingy room. Squeaky floors. Broken curtains. Cheap beds. Thin bedding. Cleanish bathroom but shower head completely scaled up with virtual stalactites! No bed lights so had to get out of bed to turn off light. Cheap but really, really poor. Alex Polizi would have a field day!

Honestly lovely welcome asked to pay cash if I had it HMRC purpose I guess You get no breakfast It’s beyond dated room very small If your room is out the front yiu won’t t get any sleep with the traffic no double glazing Please avoid at all cost I dread to think what would happen if there was a fire 🔥

POSITIVE: The price (£49 for one night) and its location. NEGATIVE: Where to begin!? The size of this small room is fine/acceptable, BUT: 1) There is only one place to hang up clothes (against a minging wall) 2) If you're coming with suitcases, there is not much space to keep this unless you keep it closed 3) The step to the bathroom is dangerous (especially at night when you're tired and forget it's a step) - see photo 4) When taking a shower, the water flood the bathroom floor AND drips down on the carpet outside the bathroom (even when the door is closed) - see photo 5) The shower hose is minging - see photo 6) The bathroom is yellow and not clean 7) I asked for a second pillow as I have a medical condition and one pillow is not sufficient for me. The staff asked why I need one and reluctantly and grumpy went to get one! I should not need to tell why I need something simple as an extra pillow! Neeless to say, I do not recommend Four Stars Hotel in London. I give it 2 stars because of its location.

I had the misfortune of reserving at Hotel Four Stars London, and I must say it was an absolutely dreadful experience. I had made a reservation for a two-night stay, but upon arrival at the hotel at 23:00, I was informed that their credit card machine was broken and they were unable to process any payments using cards. Instead of finding a solution or making alternative arrangements, the staff insisted on cash payment upfront. This was highly inconvenient and unacceptable, especially considering I had made the reservation with a credit card though a big site for a reason and the booking was secured and could not have been cancelled by me without loss of the entire fee. I asked to pay the entire reservation the next day by credit card but they refused. CASH OR OUT! I was shown out of the hotel at 23:00 at night. Do not book this hotel It is completely unacceptable to refuse a confirmed guest at such a late hour, especially when they are faced with a situation caused by the hotel's own negligence. Instead of showing any empathy or offering assistance, the staff seemed indifferent to my situation. The level of unprofessionalism displayed by Hotel Four Stars London was truly appalling. If their credit card machine was indeed broken, they should have made arrangements to allow payment the next day. This experience at Hotel Four Stars London not only left me very disappointed but also incurred additional expenses to find other hotels late at night (taxi...) and unnecessary stress. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel if you value reliability, professionalism, and the assurance that your reservation will be honored as agreed. The Hotel price seemed acceptable at booking time but the risk is not worth it!

Let’s be fair, I only paid 49£ for my room for Saturday night. So I was not expecting luxury, I work at the nearby Hospital and was after a bed after a long evening shift. It is definitely not luxury, this hotel is very tired and in need of modernisation. They still have the old Victorian windows, no double glazed, which means noises of all kind from the road ( my single room -406 - facing Sussex Gardens, super busy on Saturday night ) . The result was a completely sleepless night, I would have been better off at the hospital staff canteen with my 49£ in my pocket. I left the room at 8 am in desperation, only after few sleepless hours ( came back from the hospital at 2 am ) The room itself super basic but warm, the smallest bathroom I have ever seen, if you seat on the toilet you won’t be able to shut the door. For 49£ a night I was not expecting more, just to be able to sleep ! So my fellow travellers, AVOID IF YOU NEED A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP.

Unfortunately all the premier inns and travelodges full so opted for this budget room. Dirty. Poor condition, squeaky cramped room, windows faulty so could not close resulting in traffic noise, no lift, dangerously tight stairs, dirty shower, rotted sink sealant etc. card machine broke so only took cash payment !!! Certainly never again and not moaning- just think it’s fair to let people know.
