Heronissos Hotel

Just returned from a 10-night stay at the Hersonissos Hotel. After a slow checkin late at night & paying our hotel tax €90, we were shown to our room. On the first viewing, the room looked a little dated & small. The shower was extremely small. We were going to speak to George in the morning to change the room, but when daylight broke, we had a sea view, so we decided to keep the room (357). The staff work tirelessly & are extremely friendly. The food is very good, there was always something to eat, sometimes it wasn't piping hot though. The location is absolutely brilliant, lots of bars & restaurants close by. Overall, we had a fantastic 10 days. Don't listen to the bad reviews. We loved it & we'd recommend it to everyone.

Arrived 11pm, queued up, when you got to desk, were given form to complete. Could have just given forms to whole queue, so they were full in ready, would have been much quicker Room Tax got way overcharged. Only accept cash, no receipt. Found out couple of days later, it should only have been 7 Euros per night. 49 Euros in total. Asked at reception, why I hadn’t been charged 49€, was told 20€ was for the safe; no one asked me if I wanted a safe, I didn’t need one. I think I possibly paid 79 or even 89€, but is was late, tired, a bit flustered, no receipt, no card statement to check. So be aloof, if George is checking you in. Lift wasn’t working, carried 20kg case up 2 flights, to find my room was broom cupboard - literally! Was full of all the spare bed linen & cleaning materials. Carried case back down to reception, waited while everyone else got checked in, and then got new room. My room was absolutely fine, found out next day, lots of my fellow travelers had also needed to be moved. Some moved 3 times; but it all got sorted. Some hot charged 100€ to move, others didn’t. All was good from there, all the staff are so very friendly and helpful. The food was really good, location is also good. I would stay there again, if the price was right. If you’re looking for a budget holiday, it was fine. Just be careful if George is booking you in, the rest of reception staff are very professional, Manageress is very helpful indeed. I had a great time, just felt a bit ripped off with the payment at the beginning.

can say one of the worst hotels i’ve ever stayed in, came here as a first holiday for me and my boyfriend and would definitely not recommend. got here after traveling all day to be given a gross room, the next day after having an awful sleep we found cockroaches in the bathroom coming out of the bath plug! so went to reception asked to move and they refused us moving as they had no spare rooms, they said that it would be cleaned the next day or we could move rooms if we stayed in there another night, i refused and said i cannot stay in a room with bugs as felt like my skin was crawling and i said i’d have to get love holiday involved, the man soon then gave us an upgraded room for free for the night until a room in the other block then became available. we ended up paying 100 euros to stay in the upgraded room. the food is not the best either, i’ve ended up having pasta most nights or resorted to eating out as not much option… same with the outside bar with the ‘ all inclusive drinks ‘ the pool is also freezing and never any sun beds to lay on. on the good side the staff are friendly, and the ***** is a 2 min walk.

All staff made it an unforgettable experience. A special thank you to Dimitris and George who went above and beyond. The room was clean, the poolside area was well looked after and the food was absolutely incredible. Location was perfect, close to the sea and restaurants and bars. We will be returning.

We had All inclusive package. Food was good not all the same. Hotel was clean, staff were amazing. Hotel is located near the *****, easy to get to places.

Excellent staff and clean hotel everywhere very polite and caring people with amazing food skills too ! We stayed the week and wasn’t a problem with excursions planned by hotel with our request everything was excellent some very lovely people I’ll never forget management Danielle was brilliant suited to all our needs and staff at back are always welcome to chat and check in on ur holidays thank you to all staff at the hotel you made our stay wonderful ❤️ love Kayleigh and Michelle Williams

For The first time in Crete we feel very welcome. Beautiful hotel staff and management. Food was very good, the room pool and staff made a brilliant holiday there. The superior room has nice beds comfortably, the bathroom is perfect, and a nice pool view from the balcony. The hotel is located near shops, bars and restaurants. We will definitely come back.

I am going to write my review when I get home. But people are arriving every day. Please note. Room tax is 7 euros per night. That’s 49 euros per week, per room. That is all, no more. Arriving late at night, a bit stressed perhaps, just remember, it’s only 49 Euros
