Hotel le Christiania

Our fifth stay at the Christiania and it was so good to be back there. The hotel has a really lovely feel to it; excellent hospitality provided by John and Nicola and their team of staff, clean and comfortable en-suite rooms, superb food served each morning and evening and delicious cakes at afternoon tea, boot and ski room, a lovely bar with a roaring open fire and live music night every Monday (Squid Lips - just brilliant), and the hotel is literally ski in ski out. What more could you ask? Les Gets itself is stunning and offers an excellent choice of restaurants and shops and the skiing is suitable for all levels of skier. Thanks again for another wonderful stay!

Well.....where to start.... Absolutely perfect is all we can say. We arrived early on the first day an we were met by John and Nicola in reception. Straight away (and unprompted) John said... I am going to upgrade you to bigger room that we have free to make things more comfortable for you both. No costs or exception at all. While we waited for the new room, John gave us a room to change into our ski gear and we went out. By the time we got home, the new room was ready. Perfect. And then..... onto the evening..... the food every night is fresh, home cooked, great quality and high end service from the amazing team that the hotel employes. The bar manager 'Harris" was a joy to be with. In the bar each evening, we met some amazing people, and this combined with the fact that John makes sure everyone is looked after and feels part of family makes it such a great experience. If you need a wine recommendation... John is your man!!! We felt at home straight away. The afternoon tea idea everyday ( and included) is amazing , the open fire tops it off. And then we come down to the location...... OMG..... real time ski in ski out and yards from the hub of it all..... and we made made the most of the apres with only a short walk / stumble / ski home. I am going back to Les Gets next week and have already looked at my options to change hotel back to Christiania. In summary.....stay here!

Just returned from an excellent stay at the Christiania! Highly recommend this hotel which is run by the owners, John and Nicola, with their brilliantly helpful and cheerful young staff. It’s ski-in, ski-out so ideal for this winter sport and the ski area is vast. There’s a good boot-room with plenty of heaters and a large heated boot rack 👍 Afternoon tea by the large open fire was a treat and the evening meals were absolutely excellent. There were enticing choices of meat, fish or vegetarian on the menu each night and they were all so good it was difficult to choose! John also has an extraordinary choice of good wines and is very knowledgeable about them and the bar is well stocked. I will definitely come back and, as with other reviews I have read, can confirm that many of the people I spoke to have returned multiple times. Clearly John and Nicola are doing a lot right! A warm welcome from the enthusiastic young team of staff awaits you at the Christiania after a short, easy transfer from Geneva airport. Right on the slopes and minutes from the main lifts that whisk you into the local ski area and beyond into the vast Portes de Soleil. Roaring fire, lively bar area for apres ski, lovely food and some excellent wines await you back at the hotel. Plenty for skiers of all abilities and non skiers alike and a really friendly, fun place to stay.

Great hosts and friendly atmosphere. Location is close to the village centre and possible to ski to door snow permitting. Food was excellent. There’s a comfortable lounge area with open fire.The bar seemed to have plenty of choice including Guinness. Many of the other guests had been there multiple times.

Great hotel in the perfect location for the ski slopes in Les Gets. We were very impressed with the food and the friendly, helpful staff and owners who were also on hand to help out and give advice. Our room was on the small side but was clean and comfortable. This is the first time that we've stayed here but it won't be the last ! Richard & Rachel
