The hotel is situated at a secluded corner of Wakayama prefecture. It is much preferable to drive here rather than relying on the infrequent hotel shuttle. Public transport is otherwise non existent. There are no restaurants around the hotel. However the hotel provides delicious meals with abundant fresh seafood. The in room dining experience is superb. The hotel staff service is impeccable. The room has a spectacular sea view allowing you to see the sunset on clear days. The onsen also faces the sea which provides a relaxing experience. A downside is that the hotel does not seem to sanitize the slippers for indoor use. All hotel guests had to change to their slippers to access their indoor facilities.

L’hotel ha una vista spettacolare, si trova immerso nella natura sopra a un mare fantastico. L’onsen è molto piacevole e rilassante. Cena e colazione sono molto abbondanti di buona qualità. Il servizio è svolto da un personale estremamente gentile e accogliente. Purtroppo a livello di pulizia abbiamo avuto dei problemi in quanto l’hotel è pieno di polvere e muffa in certe camere, quindi abbiamo avuto una terribile reazione allergica durante la notte. Il personale è stato gentile e ci ha spostate in un’altra camera ed anche offerto un rimborso parziale. Se prenotate qui vi consiglio di accertarvi di avere una stanza ai piani superiori 3 o 4, dove le stanze sono più nuove e presentano meno questa problematica.

CCeres NgThe location is not the most central, but it is right next to Wakayama Castle, which is a big plus. In the evening, it’s very pleasant to take a walk around the castle area — quiet, scenic, and relaxing. There are bus stops nearby, making it fairly convenient to get around, though buses do not run very frequently. It’s best to check the schedule on Google Maps in advance. On the ground floor, there is a 24-hour FamilyMart, which is very convenient. There is also a McDonald’s (closes at 8pm) and a few nearby restaurants, so food is not really a concern. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Check-out was quick and hassle-free. Overall, for the price I paid, this hotel exceeded my expectations. I would recommend it to travellers who don’t mind a quieter area and enjoy being close to Wakayama Castle.

TTamuI cannot recommend Candeo Hotels Nankai Wakayama enough! Its super convenient, just a few steps to the JR/Nankai lines and if the trains take too long to come, a few more steps and you're at the bus interchange! The service staff is awesome, room is huge and breakfast is yummy! The coin laundry is super affordable but there's only 2 washers & 2 dryers so to avoid ”peak hour”, better start early or go late. Its on the same floor as the baths and oh my God, the outdoor bath at night in winter is awesome!

TTamuThe room is huge which is out of our expectation, lots of spaces for luggage, the room got everything you need which camee to our surprise, like cables with various plug, different texture if rubber band, all sort of facial care, and different flavours of body shower, shampp and conditioner etc. theres even a supply station at the lobby if you still find not enough; as well as a drinks machine, which u can get coffee, matcha, chocolate and so on, it really made our day. The hotel is around 15 mins walk from JR station, there is convenient shop nearby, it wont be a big problem if you drive, theres a free parking at the hotel as well.

BBrianDellThe location is just fine for seeing museums, it’s just for eating options (including supermarkets) that it’s a bit out of the way. Microwave and vending machines on the ground floor. It’s a good value and glad I picked this for my 3 night stay. I didn’t try the breakfast since it looked like it might be fully booked from the sign but I might have been misunderstanding what it was saying.

TTamuFabulous seaside view and nice Japanese traditional style onsen with Seaview. They also switch male and female side every day so you can enjoy both onsen in one trip. Their check out time is 10am and check in around 15:00 so the time you can enjoy is a little limited. But I would recommend you take the breakfast and dinner inclusive to have the whole experience and it is quite far away from any food and no convenient transport except transfer to city center every morning.
