It was clean and comfortable. There was some renovation, so I’m not sure if they have removed the restaurant but the dinner was only available in the bar which was adequate but lacked ambiance (the service was great, no complaint there). Most importantly, they have removed the fitness center which is generally one of my booking criteria - please update the listing.

We stayed two nights in The Hills Hotel. We were delighted to be able to enter our room at 12 noon. The hallway, room, and furnishings appeared to reflect a recent upgrade. Unfortunately, the air conditioner vent was right in front of the head of the bed that was near the windows. The hotel is in a good area with access to the freeway and within walking distance of many good restaurants and shops. The breakfast was fine with us: it was an a la carte breakfast with reasonable prices and friendly servers. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, especially Ms. Lynn who helped us identify and contact several local merchants. An additional $27 resort fee for parking, two bottles of water a day, and drinks (can be used for coffee, orange juice) made the total cost higher than it appeared, but we would stay at The Hills again if they have a room where the air conditioner does not blow on the head of the bed.

Though the front desk staff was very friendly & helpful, their check-in process was painfully slow. The room was a good size but dimly lit. The bed was comfortable, and there were power outlets at each nightstand--great for charging devices at bedside. There was a nice size mini fridge in the room and coffeemaker. But sleeping . . Ugh, the air conditioning unit was ridiculously loud! The option was to either suffer through a blaringly loud, Arctic blast blowing directly at your head all night, or suffer through a hot July night without air conditioning and instead have the highway traffic keep you awake all night. Neither option is conducive to a good night's sleep, unfortunately. Just not worth the hotel's high price. The dimly lit bathroom had a lighted mirror but the lights did not work at all. There was large shower with no mold (good job, housekeeping!), but the shower water pressure was weak and the water was so soft it left a slimy film. The toilet was too low for anyone over 4 feet, and the toilet seat gave a jarring shift to the right whenever sat upon. WiFi worked fine but was not password protected. Checkout was nearly as slow as check-in. Staff should realize that some people need to get on the road, not be stalled at the front desk for no good reason. Charging for a room-only should be a simple process, as it is at most hotels. Overpriced, this hotel is too full of itself; you can't just will yourself into a high-end hotel class, you have to prove it, and there's just no proof here anymore. I'll surely look elsewhere the next time I'm in the area.

Hotel needs an upgrade badly. The carpet in the hallways was curled up and the air smelled musky. We were welcomed by overwhelming smell of musk when we entered the room. The sheets were itchy. The AC in our room wasn’t working properly and had to asked the front desk 2x to send someone up before it started to work. We had bought breakfast package which we couldn’t use because the restaurant didn’t have buffet and severely understaffed. There was no one to greet us at the restaurant and had to approach one of the waiters to get ourselves seated. We were then told it would take 20-30 min for our food - after someone can take our order! We asked the front desk to get our money back for the breakfast and he said he couldn’t do it because we booked thru 3rd party, which was incorrect because we booked directly thru IHG. We emailed the hotel manager to get a refund and he too ignore us. We spent $300/night for this place which was not worth it. Will not return even if it’s free.

The pillows are the fluffiest I’ve ever felt. Michael ensured they were at top tier fluffiness level and tested each one until it was up to my expectations. 11/10 reccomend the bartender and the pillows are up to my expectations just like what I would expect from the hills

First time coming staying at the hotel and decided to hang in the bar and we were lucky enough to have Derek as our bartender! Derek is absolutely fantastic! Great drinks and conversation! He keeps the bar clean and takes the best care of you! 10 out of 10 drink mixing and service! Loved that on Sunday’s they have live music!

We were truly guests in need, as a sudden death in the family required, moving my son out of a residence which had become unsuitable. The whole staff, especially ❤️Lynn❤️, treated us like family and were unfailingly nice to us throughout our visit.

This hotel is an old building with a face-lift. We woke up to no hot water. Staff didn't care at all. Just kinda shrugged there shoulder like well so what we never have HOT WATER. Corporate offered us a $40 credit in the form of Holladay In points. Don't bother even trying this place the pictures look great but the hotel doesn't even provide the basic needs you book a hotel for. Just pathetic ant terrible experience.

This hotel is on the pricey side and then at check in they have an additional charge of $22 per night that is not mentioned anywhere on their website. I was told it is mandatory and I have to pay it. They said it was to cover the pool, the fitness center, the wi-fi, two bottles of water and the parking. We don’t have a car, won’t use the pool or fitness center and have unlimited everything on the phone so won’t use the wi-fi. I asked about the water and was directed to the bar for a glass of water so I went back to the desk and asked for the bottle water. After giving her my room number I got the water but I have no idea if they are going to charge me for it. The room is ok, large which is nice but the bathroom has a walk in shower with the drain next to the toilet so most of the floor is wet after the shower. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless it’s the only place you can find.

Hello, As a Gold Elite member, I am reporting about a very unpleasant and rude and loud noise experience we had during our recent stay this weekend at the Hills Hotel (IHG) at Laguna Hills. Ever since we checked in at the hotel, the residents across our room have been making frequent loud noises and standing in the follow hallway yelling and chatting loudly in such disrespectful manner and with rudeness, it becomes intolerable when someone is trying to sleep after 11pm. This morning, they had several visitors also starting the hotel and started having loud conversations starting at 7am outside our room door and slamming their hotel door numerous times. It became impossible for my spouse to get some sleep who had high fever and sick since Friday night. We notified the hotel front desk staff and she told us that Manager will call us when he gets in today but never heard back from anyone. These neighboring room residents were blatantly rude and disrespectful of maintaining silence or low level noise at early morning or late night hours. We wanted to bring this matter to your attention given we were expecting to enjoy a pleasant weekend vacation at this IHG property. We were hoping the hotel would offer some degree of compensation to us due to this unpleasant experience. Hotel did not take any action

Excellent hotel and has an amazing staff! Ronnie was a big help to make our experience a memorable one. We had a huge event at the hotel and it went off without a hitch! I would highly recommend The Hills Hotel if you are looking for a quality hotel focused on outstanding customer service.

We stayed one night at the hotel. Upon checkin, was told our room wasn’t ready but they would call when available. I called an hour later and was told the room still wasn’t available but they would call. They NEVER called. I went back to the hotel at 10:30p and was given my room. The front office attendant couldn’t be bothered to hang up from his personal call to assist. He literally talked on the phone while he handed me the key. The hotel has peeling wallpaper, stained and torn carpets. Would not recommend this property.

Check in was easy and the staff were very friendly at all hours. The room was a good size but was very dark inside. There was a mini fridge and coffee maker. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were very soft. Each nightstand had a lamp outlet--perfect for charging devices at bedside. Unfortunately, the air conditioning unit pointed directly at the head of the bed--bad position! It was also quite loud. The bathroom was dimly lit, unfortunately, with a low counter and low toilet. The shower was large with good water pressure and no mold--good job, housekeeping! Strange that there was no place at the sink to hang a towel. The free WiFi was, unfortunately, spotty. Parking was free in the hotel's large open-air parking lot. Over all a decent stay, but quite pricey for an average room. I might stay here the next time I'm in the area--if the price is right.

My family was looking to have an overnight stay in an accessible unit in Laguna in order to fully enjoy the activities planned for that area. We found The Hills Hotel on a google search. We were very pleased with the facility; clean, accessibility features were very good, bonus of free drinks for each, fast check in process, friendly and helpful staff. We would definitely stay again. There was a small issue in the room; however, it was corrected within 15 minutes.
