The staff at the front desk was amazing and let us check in ahead of the specified time which I am so grateful for, we went to drop off the luggage but were informed that the room was ready so we proceeded to check in. Be advised that Kyoto charges a tourist tax to be paid in cash only. The room was spacious and very cozy, however the bathroom had a must/moldy smell. I didn’t let the staff know because they were gracious to let us check in early and I didn’t want to be a nuisance also it wasn’t a deal breaker for us but might be for some people. Laundry was complementary. Also this is the 4th hotel that we checked in into in Japan in a week span and is the first hotel not to offer basic necessities as in lotion, razor, moisturizer for face and body among others; for the price paid I expected more. We did get a super cute reusable bag.

Nice cosy place.Best hot chocolate for free.Nice room,comfortable beds,a mini sauna and after a tired day soak yourself in an oxygen bubble bath.We enjoyed our stay here.Staffs are helpful.Will stay again here.Bus stop is close by.A lot of restaurants close by.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 days while travelling across Japan. We had a room with a private sauna. The room was very comfortable, the bed was perfect, and the functionality was perfect. Every aspect was very well thought through. Only shortcoming was that the breakfast was just ok. But it wasn’t bad. I’d stay here again and highly recommend it.

Simply couldn’t fault this hotel. Service, location, rooms etc are all first class. Short walk to the majority of tourist attractions, a little further for the shopping district. History on your doorstep. Restaurants and bars just around the corner.

This hotel is amazing. It's clean and the rooms are spacious. This was our second stay there first time when it had only been opened a month. The hotel is in central Gion close to everything. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to one and all. We hope to be back next April.

The staff was wonderful. The amenities were appreciated….coffee/tea available all day, our room had a sauna and oxygen bath (so nice after a day of walking), controls for lights and window coverings by the bed! The location was great, down a side street, quiet yet close to public transit!

A unique property in an upscale neighborhood. Hybrid Japanese/ western breakfast and free coffee was a nice touch.

The staff went above and beyond! The lady at the front desk speak Spanish, English and Japanese and she was always trying to help. You can’t beat this place in regards cost/location versus other options. Done hesitate to book it

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in my 5 trips to Kyoto. The rooms are spacious and modern, some with a balcony. Our room had a small kitchenette and in room sauna which was must appreciated during a winter trip. The staff speak English which is super helpful and are very friendly. We stayed 5 nights and easily walked to the train station or sites from the hotel. The onsite washer is a plus and they even have a drying rack if you don’t want the 5 hour drying cycle. They provide all the amenities including toothbrushes for everyone so no need to bring hygiene supplies.1A taxi to the train station is 1500-2000 yen so if you have a lot of luggage and souvenirs it is no problem. Highly recommended hotel.

Amazing place to stay! Cannot say enough nice things about this hotel- smaller size boutique accomodation. Stayed with my family over Xmas/New Year's time- we were in two rooms. My girls (ages 16 and 20) stayed in a twin room with tatami/pillow space for chilling. Husband and I had the king room with balcony. The staff, esp Michael, all billingual were incredibly helpful for local tips and advice. Daily buffet breakfast had everything you could ask for. 24 hr coffee/tea, free washing machines. Rooms quiet, spacious for Japanese hotel. I spent a long time trying to figure out where to stay in Kyoto and got very lucky fining Gion Elite- it's a close walk to many of the temples, shrines, walks, food, coffee, treats. Will definitely tell my friends to stay here without reservation.
