The balance between price and location was perfect. It's great that there's a bar nearby. There was a welcome drink, which was nice. There was plenty of free rental items, and the service was very good. It was also nice that they provided free bath salts. The only thing that was disappointing was that the 4th parking lot was far away, and it was a snowy day so it was difficult to walk with luggage. I can't accept that after having to walk so far, the parking fee is the same as the 1st parking lot. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

The hotel is very close to the station and has convenient transportation. Although the room is small, it has complete facilities! The hotel staff also provided good service. Even if I accidentally booked a smoking room, the hotel staff could help change it. Thank you very much!

The facilities are lodge-style and can't be compared to hotels, but it is the best to enjoy a solo trip slowly. The meal is sufficiently satisfactory and the hot spring is hot, but it is good. Isn't it best to be familiar with nature such as bird watching, this time the weather I couldn't do it badly, but I can enjoy the starry sky of the sky because there is no light.

I contacted in advance that I had a pet in 205 room online reservation, but for some reason it was treated in 201 room without pet reservation. Since the 201 room is near the shared toilet, pets respond to the sound used by guests at midnight, so be careful when choosing a room. The electric remote control did not respond. Although it is an accommodation with a common part, I was concerned about the cleanliness, and the staff on the day was very good.

Service is average as they only speaks Japanese. It's a shared toilet facility which is not so convenience. Have to go all the way down to 1st floor to bath in the onsen room with the mass public make me a little bit embarrasing. All facilities was quite run-down with poor maintenance. Only good things is the breakfast which is quite localised and yummy.

Shin-Akan is obviously an old hotel. The buffet is OK. The highlight is that there is a large public outdoor swimming pool upstairs. It is mixed for men and women. You need swimsuits. The hotel has prepared them. You can wear theirs. There are swimsuits in the bathroom, or you can wear your own. The open-air hot spring is quite good. You basically take a bath in the hotel's hot spring. The bathroom is very small. In winter, Lake Akan is completely frozen. Maybe because of the weather, you can hardly see any scenery. It is more fun to play snowmobiles and snow sleds. The hotel has a very big problem, because there is a self-service grill for dinner, and many people will grill meat. The restaurant is completely open on the first floor, making the whole building full of the smell of barbecue, which is very bad.

It was nice to have a full-sized bathroom! It was very nice to have separate washer & dryer units instead of the typical combo units we've encountered!! It was super nice that the woman at the front desk spoke enough English that she was able to explain our reservation & parking!!! The breakfast was a ”Comfort Suites” style breakfast but had a decent combo of Japanese & Western choices. The stacked parking for our car was well coordinated. This was a ”day of” reservation for us but in a couple ways ”beats” the last Airbnb we stayed at in Tokyo.

The breakfast was very satisfying and delicious. The bath was spacious and there was an open-air bath, so it was a great place to stay. I would like to stay here again.

This is an old hotel that opened in 1976. The overall facilities have the feeling of that era. Although it is old, it is still relatively clean and hygienic. Considering that labor costs in Japan are relatively high, it is acceptable not to provide daily hotel cleaning for multiple-day stays. Those who mind this can avoid this hotel. The breakfast environment is very good. On the 10th floor of the hotel, there is a very good view overlooking Kushiro, which feels like a dream back to the Showa era. The space of the triple room is relatively large because it is set up in the corner of the building. I think this is good.
