Z Hotel (Kunming Dianchi Shenghuo Meixue)

5/5 – An Exceptional Stay with Outstanding Hospitality! We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The service was excellent—they even arranged a pickup for us, which was incredibly helpful. What really stood out was how kind and attentive everyone was, especially with our 5-month-old baby. When we needed assistance with getting our little one vaccinated, the staff helped us navigate everything smoothly. Their genuine care made a huge difference. The amenities were fantastic—having laundry service included was a lifesaver for us as traveling parents. We also enjoyed the free coffee and snacks available throughout the day, and the breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of fresh and delicious options. We also appreciated the hotel’s warm and safe atmosphere. The fact that the staff is mainly female added to the welcoming and comforting environment. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely return if we’re back in the area. Z hotel is stunning. The design of the hotel is very creative. The staff were super helpful and tried to do their best for me. Please note , you will need to contact them before hand so that they can give you a short ride in their cart to the hotel because the hotel is located in a pedestrian area. It is very pleasant to stroll along quiet streets after supper. I would have awarded Z hotel full marks except for 1 thing, and it is not a big thing. I found that the toiletries were not replaced when almost empty. We stayed 3 nights. It is so easy for the cleaning person to check this while doing up the room. Also, in the breakfast area, a few serviette holders were empty too. I hope they can improve on this little area and they will be perfect.

You may ask why we had to come back to this hotel after visiting Lijiang and Dali, the answer is definite! Combined with the beautiful city scenery, people can feel the unique cultural atmosphere and humanistic charm of Kunming. There are various restaurants and specialty shops on the cultural and tourism street within a hundred meters , it is a very unique experience., I would say the most memorable thing in Z Hotel is the ladies in the kitchen, they cook up a feast, My Goodness! Fruit and veggies are incredibly fresh and delicious, they even offered Starbucks Coffee is a Bonus!

If there was a 6th star, it would be for the service. From check in, to check out, the staff always went above and beyond to ensure that we had a pleasant stay. You could feel the genuine warmth from the team there and it hands down beat the established 5 star hotels. Best service, ever. So good, that we cancelled another hotel stay in Kunming to return to this hotel for our last night.

We had a wonderful time at Z Hotel. The hotel is very beautiful and located in a peaceful area in Kunming. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We got excellent tea, fresh fruits and dessert everyday. They even helped us with washing our clothes.

Was this the best hotel in Kunming? Very possible. There’s are some really nice places to stay in the city, but the staff and the breakfast here were exceptional, so much so that I would not stay anywhere else next time I come. The staff working at the front desk were soooooo amazing and helped us with transport, restaurants and recommendations for places to see and things to do and eat. They made is super fun and unforgettable. The room was wonderful and the beds very comfy as well. The hotel is situated in a small commercial area, so you can go out and take walks and have all sorts of foods, or go watch a movie, place arcade. The breakfast… definitely get the breakfast. The ladies in the kitchen cook up a feast every morning and everything was fresh, delicious and the coffee was amazing. This place also has an amazing tea room built in and is suppppper instagrammable, if you’re into that kind of thing. Highly recommend this Z Hotels.
