Hotel Villa Bonnie

In early July I had the pleasure of staying at this charming, family-run hotel. Recently renovated, it has been tastefully and beautifully decorated and furnished. It is well located near a tram stop and within walking distance to the beach. The hosts were friendly and welcoming; breakfast was plentiful with a good choice (fresh fruit, pastries, yoghurt, fruit juice, coffee/tea, eggs, fresh salmon, selection of cheeses, ham and bread) and beautifully presented. There is a charming terrace (unfortunately the weather wasn’t great during our stay so we could not take advantage of it) and parking at the rear of the hotel was free. As the hotel had just opened there were a couple of teething problems, i.e. no TV, but I’m sure these have since been ironed out. We were in a Queen room on the ground floor, which was well-equipped with a safe, tea and coffee-making facilities and a small refrigerator. However, I found it a bit small - there was no space to store two cases and very little cupboard space for clothes, so next time I would go for a double room. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was bright and spacious, the shower worked well, we had soft, fluffy towels – and the toilet was separate – a big bonus point! I recommend this hotel and would return without hesitation!

Que dire si ce n’est que cet hôtel ou plutôt cette pension de famille dans le noble sens du terme est superbe. Il y a d’abord le bâtiment blanc avec les stores rouges et blancs. Vois êtes à la mer… la décoration est extrêmement raffinée. Un mélange de passé mais avec une touche moderne. Tous les objets sont réfléchis. La chambre famille est peut-être un peu petite, mais elle a totalement répondu à nos attentes. Et puis la literie est très agréable. Je garde le meilleur pour la fin : le petit déjeuner servi à table est superbe. Que ce soit les viennoiseries, un œuf sur le plat ou des fruits frais. Toute une équipe est en cuisine dès le petit matin pour votre bien être. La perfection. Autre point à savoir vois êtes à Knokke Heist et il vous faudra donc prendre la voiture ou un taxi pour rejoindre le centre bouillonnant du Zoute. Mais c’est un inconvénient minime à côté de tous le reste.

Zeer gedateerd, geen airco, zeer gehorig. Hotel moet eigenlijk gewoon z’n deuren sluiten en een grote verbouwing doorvoeren. Dit mag eigenlijk zo niet open blijven. Alles is echt oud, versleten etc. Ontbijt was prima en aardige mensen. Lokatie is dicht bij strand, maar toch zeker 45 minuten lopen tot het centrum. Toen wij er waren, was een goed restaurant vinden in de buurt toch wel een uitdaging. Wij gaan er zeker niet terug.
