The Whittington and Cat

Check-in was smooth and friendly. Our room very clean and tidy, with everything we needed for a one night stay. This is a bed-only hotel, no breakfast. It’s situated very close to the old city centre and offers great value stays. Be aware the directions the hotel sends you are relevant if you are approaching Hull from the North. There are major roadworks in that part of town which make actually getting to the hotel difficult.

I booked 2 rooms for ourselves and friends to see the War of the Worlds at Hull. The location was fantastic - just across the road and a 10 minute walk to Hulls old town. The facilities were outstanding. I have very rarely come across a property where you could genuinely say it was possible to eat off the floor but this property did it. After check in we met up with our friends and the first thing we said to each other was 'you could eat off any surface'. The whole place was pristine. The second thing we said was the beds were so comfy. Next -the staff. They were top notch, friendly, professional and willing to go the extra mile for the guests. When we arrived back after the show we had a couple of drinks in the bar and were made very welcome despite the late hour. We booked a table for lunch the following day and were allowed to stay in our rooms till the pub opened for lunch ( this was really convenient for us as my partner is disabled and was feeling shattered after the concert). The food was loverly, freshly cooked, tasty and very good value - we got the last table for 12.00 noon and all time slots were booked up after that. The Whittington and Cat will now be our goto accommodation when staying in Hull. Highly recommended.

Came up to Hull for the Middle Child Panto and stayed here. Friendly staff and we stayed in the Emerald room with the 4 posted bed. Very comfy room, decent shower and well stocked with tea, coffee etc. Staff were great and we had the festive food here with family. 10/10 and would definitely recommend. Location is super for the town centre and pubs, bars and restaurants.

Great room with 4 poster bed, very clean and nice and warn for a cold December day. Staff very polite and the prices of the drinks in the bar, great value for money. Good location overlooking the marina. Parking available (free). Met the owners, very nice hospitable people. Met some of the regulars on our return from a meal, had a real good old sing song. Lovely night all round. Will definitely stay again when in the area.

We were both impressed with our stay Nice Comfortable bed And staff really helpful and friendly Plenty of choice for our evening meal And one of the bar staff learnt how to make a Rusty nail Nice and clean Staff even helped with providing us with a phone charger would happily stay again

What a great find. The staff are so friendly. The room was large and had everything we needed. Even though we were close to the road we didn't hear the traffic in the morning. The price was really reasonable too. We will definitely return. Thank you
