AMBOSELI SOPA LODGE

We are so happy our safari company booked us at this lodge. While it is a 20 min ride from the park entrance, this provided serenity and a lovely place to be between game drives. Our first day we arrived at lunch. While most people are on game drives in the middle of the day, we loved being there. The lunch was exceptional and we had some time to enjoy the pool. The views of Mt. Kilimanjaro were stunning in the early morning and early evening. Overall we loved being here whether it was the comfort of our room, sitting by the fire chatting with other guests, swimming in the pool or the delicious food at every meal. Thank you to Gideon who made our pool time comfortable and took time to chat with us, Mercy for the friendly face at meals and Issac for being the best waiter to come back to after drives.

I received a lovely welcome, the views are brilliant! Caring security guards with massive eco-care of their environs. I enjoyed the chef' meals earnestly and the care of the waitress (Mercy Mempe) was beyond comparison. Supportive management and housekeeping staff. I wouldn't mind another trip and stay there

I am here with my 13 year old daughter and we are enjoying the resort. The staff is helpful and friendly. The location is a little far from the main gate to the park (30 min) but there are animal sightings on the drive, so it’s not bad. My only complaint is the hot water schedule and wifi. The hot water is only on at certain times, so you have to plan your day around the schedule. It’s fine for us because we go to bed by 10pm and the hot water is off by then. But if you stayed up late or needed a middle of the day shower, it would be an issue. The other issue is the wifi is limited to private areas only. So if you cannot check messages or use the internet in tour rooms this is inconvenient and could be easily fixed.

The place is one of the best places to visit giving value for your money. There are no regrets in booking your stay at the place. Would highly recommend that people visit the place and get to experience one of the best if not the best experiences while they Visit Amboseli national park.

Stayed at Amboseli Sopa lodge for a night after a tiring flight from india . We were greeted with a warm smile and hot towels after a long 4 hr drive from Nairobi. After a quick brief at the reception we were escorted to our rooms which was lovely . Big rooms and washrooms were decent size . We were a coupe with a 6 year old . So the room for us was quite big with 2 king size beds . Rooms do not have AC but portable fans are quite handy considering the chilly weather . We had to quickly get ready for our game tour so the staff were courteous enough to keep the hot water running beyond the stipulated time . The food was a decent spread with us being pure vegetarians . Special care was taken for our diet and was prepared according to our satisfaction. Mt Kilimanjaro looks so pretty with clear skies from the vast open laws just outside the restaurant. The game drive is 30-40mins from the resort . The masai tribe in the resort are very friendly and always greeted my little one with a smile and always willing for a photograph. The staff overall were very friendly and always had a smile on their face . Sadly could stay here for one night . But will definitely recommend others to check this place out .

. I visited the hotel for the 1st time for a workshop with my colleagues and must say I was very underwhelmed . the reputation of this hotel is bigger than the experience . The room was very underwhelming, and there was no hot water in my room. despite been given a strict shower time. most of the windows were stuck open and seemed like they had not been maintained and there was poor safaricom network and zero WIFI . Overall the rooms are very outdated and the curtains offered no privacy as people could see us from outside. ( my wife was not amused ) the food was okay , however the restaurant seating was not consistent as we had to jostle for tables with the other guests , the menu was okay but could be better for different cuisines ( same menu was served day 1-3) . the conference room had very poor wifi and we struggled to make presentations and access our emails . finally the driveway from the main road needs some work as it is run down , this was more so as we used our own cars to acees the lodge . the views of mt Kilimanjaro however are beautiful and the gardens are well-kept at the restaurant area. might not come back soon .

(This is an excellent effort and i really commend the good conservation and protection works that the owners together with the staff and community have done and still. Accessing the charming and breath taking Amboseli national park from the lodge is easy and the park is wonderfully amazing. We will return, thank you so much.

We really enjoyed the resort and captivating view of Mt Kilimanjaro . Sami should be named as the ambassador of this lodge. He is very friendly and our children loved fishing with him in the little pond . Resort has very relaxed and laid back environment , May be it's because April is low season. All the catering and bar staff are very courteous and nice. Pool was fun too.
