Not worth the price that we paid. Bedding was wet. No ice in the ice machine on our floor. No ATM. No breakfast. No microwave. Bathroom door was dirty. Cleaning of rooms only once every 3 days. Fees, fees & more fees. 2 check-in clerks for 2 hotels.

Great pool & atmosphere. We love staying at this hotel

The sound insulation is not very good.

We arrived at the hotel and thanks to the open communication, i knew that we had to go to North 42° to check in. From the minute we walked in, we were happily greeted by the hotel staff. We arrived early and our room wasn’t ready so we sat at the bar and had lunch while we waited. I received a text from the front desk to let us know that our room was ready and we were upgraded to a pool view room and a welcome bottle of champagne. Everyone we encountered was so friendly and helpful starting with Jose (front desk), the gentleman putting out the towels, housekeeping, bartenders and the concierge (can’t forget the hilarious roosters). We would 1000% return to the Gates!

This place is an absolute gem! The food, rooms, bars, and overall ambiance are all top-notch. I wasn’t expecting much, but this place certainly exceeded my expectations. I would love to return if given the chance. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Key West.

Hotel was a 3-star hotel in my book. No reception and have to check in next door which can be busy. Pool area is nice. Housekeeping lady that covered my room was very work shy, missed my room twice in 5 nights and was rude when I asked for clean towels when I returned to the hotel. Beware, garden view is not a garden view.

Clearly an old motel fixed up and promoted as refurbished. Firstly, let me say, I had a reasonable stay here but there are some shortcomings: They charge a resort fee of $50.00. If it wasn't for the free shuttle into old key west, it would not be worth it. We had to work hard to obtain the other benefits such as the free drink. Never got the free gift that was mentioned. We had to wait to get a room, like many other guests that day, but somebody going around on a golf cart (cant remember their name) took the time to call the front desk & found out our room was ready. Waiter at the pool bar seemed to have his favorite customers as I waited and waited and more than one guest was served ahead of me. I walked away. They refurbished the rooms, but whoever they used to lay floor tile should be fired. Tiles were cracked and broken in various places. A trip hazard for some. Biggest safety issue I noticed was the outdoor metal stairs to 2nd level which are rusted, to a level raising concerns. How they passed inspection I will never understand. Now 2 months later I am dealing with an extra charge on my credit card and I cannot get hold of anyone. Their website says they are closed for reservations (in the slow season)

Excellent Stay – Great Staff, Amenities, and Shuttle Service! I struggled to find detailed reviews before my trip, so I wanted to share my experience to help future travelers. I stayed at the resort for 5 nights, and it was absolutely perfect. The grounds were beautifully maintained, and the pools were clean and relaxing. The staff throughout the resort were friendly and attentive, really enhancing the overall experience. One standout feature was the complimentary shuttle service to and from Old Town Key West. It was consistently on time and made exploring the area hassle-free. The bar staff were especially fantastic – not only were the drinks great, but they also gave us some excellent local recommendations that added a lot to our trip. While there were some minor language barriers at the front desk, they were quickly and easily resolved, so it didn’t impact our stay. All in all, I highly recommend this resort. Whether you're there to relax or explore Key West, it’s a great home base.

The Gates Hotel Keywest. This is an absolutely brilliant hotel. We stayed for 7 nights here. Parked our car outside our door. Parking charges do occur per night around $15 per night. Gates Hotel is about a 15/20 min drive into Mallory Sq. There is a free shuttle bus that runs every hour into the centre. And picks u up free and brings you back again. Our room was spacious, spotless and cleaned every single day with fresh towels, bed made and 4 coffee pods every day. Shower was powerful and big. Sofa and fridge in room. 2 huge pools and cafes on site, with loads of garden room for games, outdoor chess, and baseball playing. Breakfast was at The Toasted Coconut every morning which was delicious and barman serving was so organised and brilliant. I loved everything about Gates hotel and even enjoyed all the roosters 🐓 walking around all day. I would definitely go back and stay here. Only thing to mention is extra charges they have eg car parking and resort fee is very high here at Gates in Keywest. But we knew this before we went so we were prepared for it.
