Galaxy Hotel

Such a chilled hotel, peaceful location. Midway between Lassi & Argostoli. Plenty parking if you hire a car, we didn’t, no local bus runs past the hotel, but a taxi is easy enough, maybe €8 or €10 euros depending where you are dropped. Helen cooks all the breakfast stuff fresh each day, plenty of choice, from pastries, cereals, bacon, eggs; sausages, cooked meat, cheese, toast, butter jam, honey, coffee, tea, orange juice, fresh fruit. Helen & Petros are so helpful, nothing is too much bother. Room I had, had a double bed (single traveller), a fridge, double wardrobe with a safe inside, little dressing table, no hairdryer in the room, I was offered one though. Bathroom, very basic, typically greek. My balcony had lovely sea views . Couple of restaurants about 5 minutes around the corner, I think one was part of a caravan park, absolutely massive portions! And cheap too. If you want to.. you can go into the clubhouse on the caravan park … has karaoke etc ( I never went) . For a bigger selection of restaurants - lassi & Argostoli are nearby, some reviews say walkable - I didn’t - taxi for me, 68yrs old and 33 degrees at 7pm 🥵. Did an island tour - chosen from a leaflet in reception, went to Fiskardo, Melissina caves, Asos, viewing platform at Myrtis cove, fabulous day €40, I thought was a bargain

We had the best week here . We arrived as the first guests in the hotel of the season, and had the hotel to ourselves for 24 hours! Peter and his mum run the hotel and couldn't have been more helpful for us throughout our stay. They made us feel so welcome and we had the experience that we've sometimes craved in larger, fancier hotels. Breakfast was far better than we anticipated , all freshly cooked each morning. The 2 tavernas situated around the corner served delicious , affordable food, in an incredibly beautiful setting. We sat and watched the sunset on a couple of our evenings there. Argostoli and Lassi are both walkable and we enjoyed both, seeing the Sea Turtles in Argostoli and enjoying cocktail happy hours in Lassi. Taxis were easily available when we didnt want to walk, and priced between €8-10 for either journey. We fully recommend the galaxy hotel and think we'll definitely return one day

This was my second visit to Kefalonia and this particular hotel! I found it perfect, perfect location and a really good price. There are a couple of nice places to swim directly opposite the hotel and some places to eat 2 minute walk away. It takes around 40 minutes to walk into town , there is a path all the way and very nice sea views to look at. We hired a moped to visit the island and found the roads easy to navigate. We went to the campsite for evening food quite often which is the closest, and the other one next door I(I can't remember the name) We found the conditions fine for us, and all the people who work/run there very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is plenty enough, fruit/ pastries meat etc. We will be back to kefalonia again soon and will definitely go here again.

This little place is underrated. We visited for a short stay and found it to be excellent , yes the bathrooms could do with a little updating but the reception , bar and breakfast area have all been updated from those shown in the photos , with new modern furniture ,so I'm sure that the owners are working round to it (The Jet2 holidays website needs updating with the new photos) The bedroom was large and clean with excellent air conditioning. There is new balcony furniture , we had an upper floor room with a sea view which was just beautiful. WiFi is strong and works in all areas. The breakfast is varied and plentiful , and you won't leave hungry. Although lunch and dinner are not served, we understood from other guests that the staff are more than happy to help with delivery service from nearby restaurants if you want to eat in on your balcony. It is possible to walk into Argostoli, which would take around 45 minutes, but I would say that a car would be useful to have (or a bike) . The local bus past the hotel does not run since Covid.

If you are looking for a relaxing break with the option of visiting a bustling centre nearby, I fully recommend this hotel. A small, family business, Maria and the staff met our every need. Every day we got a sunbed and the pool was bigger than I expected. Two small beaches are a 5 minute walk away and the location means you are surrounded by the sea. Two tavernas are a 5 minute walk away and reception will help you order lunch in from Argostoli. The capital is full of restaurants and we really enjoyed our nights by the shore. Our day trip to Ithaca was the highlight. Enjoy yourselves!

The best hotel the best staff love the sea view rooms, breakfast is a bonus made by the lovely Helen. Maria and Petros make this hotel run the way it does. I’ve been back several times and feels like home wouldn’t go anywhere else

Hotel needs much updating very shabby furniture and in need of update desperately, bed was awful really thin mattress and lumpy( shocked at no mattress protector or pillow protectors and as i discovered on last day after stripping bed full of stains. Bathroom i had Extremely dated not even a shelf for my toiletries. Most important for me is i had several gift items i had purchased during my stay go missing from my suitcase on the last day of my holiday. I had a late flight and suitcase was in my room with locked door until 6.30 pm when i left for the airport, No one but myself and staff had access to that room. I discovered the theft on my return home and was so sad, i emailed hotel and had a very unhelpful and defensive reply. Galaxy hotel stated we were complainers regarding safety issues(which were justified) ie No pool depth markings and loose stair banister( i did report to jet2) as basic health&safety they also said we alone were the only people that had a key to the room as cleaner had lost key so impossible to have anything stolen omg haha what a joke! Extremely concerning health and safety issue if there was a fire in the hotel. I certainly would not reccomend this hotel! i have visited many different greek islands and never experienced theft from hotel staff of none valuable items,although reading a review from 2021 guy had money stolen from his suitcase at this hotel wish i had read before i visited. So disappointed because i absolutely love kefalonia but has saddened me to think about returning.

What a fantastic hotel, clean basic rooms, great breakfast, lovely swimming pool which is sea water but nice to have a fresh water shower when you get out. Lovely people that run the hotel, nothings to much trouble and Bella the dog,a bit grumpy but I still liked her. It's in a great position with two great tavernas near , especially Diddimakia. Can't wait to visit again, yammas 👍🍷🍷🍷🍷

What a fantastic place. We were staying at the campsite along the way but it was so noisy we moved to here for one night. Maria was so kind and could not have been more helpful. The rooms are a bit tired but it is a 2 star hotel so it was expected but it was spotlessly clean with great air conditioning. The pool is lovely with a small cove to swim just opposite. You will need to walk a fair bit to get to Argostoli or Lassi or they will call you a taxi. Lovely, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I can’t wait to return.
