So, convenient! Not fancy, but clean, friendly staff, and small enough to not seem crowded. Coffee available 24/7, as well as continental breakfast in the mornings.

I stayed here for one night. It was great for what I needed the 1 night - close to the airport and had a list of taxis to call for transportation to the airport early in the morning.
Pros:
The beds was comfortable. The AC worked well. I felt safe, as a solo female traveler staying here by myself. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a nice quiet place to stay, close to the airport. It had a bath tub and a shower. They were able to accommodate my request to stay on the second floor.
Cons:
The AC unit is very loud in the room. I suggest bringing a sleep mask, if you like a dark room as the exterior lights shine through the door to the room and brighten the room when trying to sleep. If you don't have a car, this is not the best place for you, as the nearest shopping is 1 mile away and there are no street lights after it gets dark, or sidewalks. Also, the taxis require cash, so make sure you get cash before coming to the property as there is no ATM on site.

This property is surrounded by excellent views, aside from people sleeping in their cars just outside the property. This hotel is in the industrial part of Hawaii so don’t expect to be near swimmable beaches. You get what you pay for, this was the cheapest hotel we could find on the island, so we didn’t expect anything fancy. It was clean and the staff was kind, we also enjoyed the games outside our room and views of the mountains. Shower was great. The bed wasn’t comfy and was small, with the flattest pillows we’ve ever seen. Like I mentioned, we can’t complain because you get what you pay for. It’s an old school hotel. Overall it gets the job done if you’re trying to save money.

We alway stay at the Kauai Inn when on the island. It is tucked away in a neighborhood, within easy driving distance of Poipu and really close to the airport. Quiet (if you don't mind roosters) and not surrounded by touristy shops, but nearby is a great coffee shop and Nawiliwili town, where Duke's has great old photos on the walls and a white sand beach out front - no waves.

Short distance from a colony of homeless people living in derelict vehicles and a light industrial area/shipping port. Definitely not a tourist location. ATV's, motorcycles and pickup trucks up and down the street outside the inn during the night. Although the price was less than nearby name brand hotels, definitely not worth the cost. The picture on the website doesn't tell the whole story of where the place is located.
The only saving grace to this location was the helpfulness of the staff.
