Situated right next door to its partner hotel Lilianfels it is rather the poor relation. Not really deserving of 4 stars as it has to share the facilities offered by Lilianfels next door, i.e. pool, tennis, gym etc. We had a superior garden room with not surprisingly garden access and yes great views of the Blue mountains. Room was fine, but two singles pushed together meant a not so comfy bed. Annoyingly the extractor fan in the ensuite didn't work so shaving in the fogged mirror was a challenge and the lingering odours of course! Tea/coffee room facilities were only up to poor Motel standards and a real let down. Absolutely not disabled friendly with many stairs down to our room and the same up to the bar and restaurant with no lift! Bar, restaurant and outdoor deck are showing a lack of maintenance. Staff were friendly and helpful which is always nice. Parking for guests can be a real issue in the evening with casual diners taking up the allocated spaces. Disappointed by the limited breakfast menu choices (extra charge) especially when staying four nights as we did. At $625 per night inc breakfast our stay was far from memorable. My advice, pay a little more and stay at Lilianfels and give Echoes a miss.
