Walking distance to Damascus Gate. Basic accommodation - but they don’t claim to be the Ritz! Very friendly reception staff. Two of us stayed 3 nights in a twin room. Our first night in room 42 was a tad cosy and the room window opens up onto the stairwell so lots of noise. Reception did keep their promise to move us the next day. Room 43 was bigger. Three single beds. The showers are a bit hit n miss. All that said, for what we paid it was fine. It’s for backpackers and short ‘budget’ stays. There’s a small terrace over looking that area. Tram is nearby and local shops with fruit, toiletries and traditional food. I’d happily return. Thank you.

DO NOT GO THERE. It was the worst experience after one year of travel. When I arrived at the hostel, the owner refused to give me WiFi while I wanted to check my reservation. The rooms were inhospitable with no proper mattress (more of a wooden plank), spotted bedsheet, no upper sheet, no AC, no locker, no key for the dormitory either. We went in front of the bathroom and a bad smell came out, with the floor being very dirty. As two females, we felt very vulnerable in this hostel and decided to leave without even staying. Our main concern was safety. The hostel decided to charge us for the 3 nights without listening to our complaints regarding safety and security. The owner does not care about our experience, does not care about reviews either (I of course emailed him before writing this review).

Excellent service and location. Especially Ibrahim was instructful. A place where all cultures meet. Open to all nationalities. Lowest cost hostel and hotel in Jerusalem. Closer to Damascus Gate, Allah Akbar.

Great location, great place, amazing staff. We were just staying in Jerusalem for one night and this place was perfect. So much so that we’re going to go back again to stay here. Perfect for a simple and affordable stay.

I stayed 9 nights here, I had a single room with own shower and toilet and comfy bed, it was a no frills room at a very affordable price, I found it clean and I kept it that way through out my stay, location perfect for the old city, it is in a Palestinian area and they went out of thier way to make me feel welcome, good food places and I loved the Bakers for fresh out of the oven breakfast.I always had good banter with the staff, it is a good base and if you want to get Jerusalem done, this is definitely one solution, it worked for me.

Struttura ricavata in un edificio fatiscente e vicino al capolinea dei bus (quindi molto rumoroso). Camere piccole e sporche. “Armadio” ricavato in un buco nel muro. Bagno in condizioni critiche. La finestra della camera non si apriva perché bloccata dal letto. Insistendo con il "proprietario" abbiamo avuto due asciugamani "appena arrivati dalla lavanderia". Anche i divani nel corridoio e in cucina sono fatiscenti. Non fatevi ingannare dalle foto. Non lo consiglierei neanche per una notte.
