Green Grass Hotel & Restaurant

Dear friends, janauary 7th to 11th i stayed in the hotel.i am from U.S.A and i born in jaffna.their rooms are dirty and filthy.the bathroom is urine smell.too much dust in the room.also night time a lot of people come to the bar and making too much noice.friday 10th i had vegetetarian lunch at hotel valampuri.the food is horrible.their stair ways are dirty and never clean.customer service are horrible.when rain comes all the stairways are flood.the hotel mangement loves only money but nothing any sincere.my great advice to dont booked this hotel.also tomuch mosquitos and flying insects around the hotel.in front of the hotel there are somany stare dogs.be careful.

The rooms are filthy and haven’t been cleaned for new guests. The beds and toilets are disgusting, and the rooms are infested with bugs, including cockroaches, small lizards, and mosquitoes. There’s no hot water in the bathroom. Additionally, the staff are rude and unprofessional. Please avoid staying here at all costs and consider paying a bit more to stay at another hotel across the road.

Worst accommodation and service I have ever experienced. Avoid at all costs. Best described as a complex of slums (an unplanned hotchpotch of old and new buildings without any consideration for their use). Totally untrained staff, often only understanding Tamil, The restaurant it shares with Hotel Valampuri is in a newer building but also badly in need of a refurbishment. Service poor, staff do not welcome, or even speak to customers who do not speak Tamil. We found an empty table and sat down for over twenty minutes, then spoke to a manager who sent us a waiter. Food is tolerable but very spicy. Unless you speak Tamil and tolerate shabby, even unsafe, accommodation, stay away from this complex of slums.

During my visit to Jaffna for the Nallur festival in September, I unfortunately did not make a prior hotel reservation and decided to check availability at The Valampuri hotel upon arrival. However, I was informed that due to high demand, the hotel was fully booked. The receptionist recommended their sister company, Green Grass Hotel, which I reluctantly agreed to stay in, considering it was late at night and I had already traveled a long journey by train. The reservation at Green Grass Hotel was for six days. Upon reflection, I regret staying at Green Grass Hotel. The room provided was unclean and located in a secluded corner of the hotel. The bed appeared worn out with evident stains on the sheets. The condition of the toilet was disappointing, with cockroaches freely moving around. Moreover, the availability of hot water was inconsistent; it was only available on certain days. When I requested the cleaning staff to tidy the room while I explored Jaffna, their service was subpar, and I doubted if the bed sheets were even changed. Despite being listed as a two-star hotel on ***********, I would rate this hotel as a one-star establishment based on my experience. Although Green Grass Hotel claimed to have Wi-Fi, it did not function properly throughout my stay. Despite complaining about this issue for four consecutive days, no resolution was provided. It is worth mentioning that while some of the staff members were helpful, others displayed rude and unhelpful behavior. If circumstances force you to stay at Green Grass Hotel for one night in the absence of alternatives, I would strongly advise finding a more accommodating hotel in Jaffna as soon as possible. The overall experience at Green Grass Hotel was certainly not worth the stay.

Disgusting place we walked in and straight out rooms not fit for humans bed sheets filthy AC no working only fan rooms dingey dark holes in shower walls also paint splashed over walls building work going on into night with Jack hammer's surrounding areas filthy two of our party who did brave staying had stomach problems after breakfast the swimming pool had local boys and men in their trousers and underpants using the pool little or no signs of cleaning anywhere.

Worst hotel ever I went. Cheating manager. They lie on available items to make things happen on there way. They promote buffet which is worth for nothing. They don't even reveal the other available menu. Manager is not a responsible person.
