All over the resort is really pretty. There are an array of gorgeous pools all over that were being cleaned everyday. The pools were lacking some sitting areas inside but over all they were fun. Restaurants: There are multiple restaurants to choose from, two of them needing a reservation beforehand. The food at the Thai Garden was very good, however most of us got very sick the next day. In egypt you can’t really be sure if it’s just the bacteria or something that was wrong with the food but this took two full days of our vacation because we felt to horrible. The food at the botanical garden was really tasty too and we had no issues afterwards. There are two buffets, we can only recommend going to the big circular one and skipping the one with the grill. For lunch it’s better to eat a burger or something close to the beach. The staff there is also really friendly. Staff: Most of them are extremely friendly but you can tell a lot of them expect tips and treat you according to how often you tip. In the day there will often be someone coming to you trying to sell you a your, a massage or something similar. They often are really persistent and hard to say no to. That’s uncomfortable. Drinks: Surprisingly good! Rooms: The rooms were clean, the bathroom spacious and there is a nice balcony. Sadly there is no reception in the rooms and wi-fi has to be bought additionally (we didn’t). Animation: In the day there is music at one of the pools and a foam party once a week. There are little shows at night in the Joker Club. However not what you would expect for the price you pay and the size of the resort. Area: You can book tours (best to book with getyourguide) in the area but you can also stay in the resort and do things there. The beach is nice (could be designed more comfortably) and there are gorgeous coral reefs. Please be careful not to destroy them on your way there. Overall: The resort is nice but I will most likely not return to it. Sometimes a smaller resort will be worth it a lot more.

Visited makadi palace June 3rd for 2 weeks from Manchester. This is our 32nd visit at this hotel and loved every moment yet again, we always ask for block 5 prior to arriving ( any room) and they always aim to please. The room is kept 100% clean by the housekeeping team and we have no complaints with housekeeping at all. We had a flood ( not a leak ) from a broken pipe whilst we was out one evening to return to our room with 6 housekeeping team mopping etc to get it back to standard they worked really hard ! So a big shout out to the team. There is always something not working (but that is life )ie the phone but after a conversation with reception it was working the same day. We had dinner at Discovery , Botanical , Thai and the Dome and nothing to complain about at all. The restaurant teams work hard and friendly staff. The Dome is lovely now it has had a refurb and the food is a different standard for the better, We are told the Discovery and Melange is also due a refurb hopefully this happens as the Discovery is definitely in need of this , but Handy and his team are fabulous. We had lunch in The Melange and Sunset bar and again very friendly and helpful team , never had to wait long for beverages . The Piano bar is our favourite in the evening but it was difficult to get a seat but probably due to us having dinner later , we went on the lobby bar outside and got seats easily, also difficult to get seats at the joker bar inside and out , but wasn’t a problem . Think due to the Grand being closed for refurbishment. The new cocktails are lovely . Mr Wael Bakr , Mr Hatim and all the other senior managers do an amazing job along with all their service managers to keep everyone happy . We do tip people when given a great service , but we don’t find they linger around for a tip just happy when we give it. Lastly the staff on the beach serving drinks are also very good , All in all a fabulous holiday once again , so see you In September for our 33rd visit . I had a deeply disappointing stay at Makadi Palace and cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. From the manager down to the housekeeping staff, almost everyone seems to be focused on getting tips. If you don’t tip, their attitude changes drastically — from polite and welcoming to cold and indifferent in a matter of seconds. On the beach, it’s impossible to relax. You’re constantly harassed every five minutes by staff trying to sell you overpriced “special offers” like massages, excursions, photo sessions, and more. Instead of enjoying your vacation, you feel like you have to be on guard all the time. One of the most misleading things is that the beaches are not sandy, but covered in corals, making it very difficult (and even dangerous) to enter the water without special footwear. This crucial detail is nowhere to be found on the hotel’s booking pages or tour agency websites. The only positives I can mention are the beautiful scenery and the variety of themed restaurants. Sadly, that’s not enough to make up for the overall discomfort and lack of professionalism from the staff. Makadi Palace is not a place to relax and enjoy your vacation. Unfortunately, for me, it was an experience to avoid.

We have just returned from our Holiday at Makadi Palace. We were a family of 4, 2 children aged 9 and 16. We stayed in room 3345 on the second floor. The room was ok, a bit old, but we didn't go in Holiday to stay in the room. Housekeeping was impecable. The towels were a little worn, but usable. The hotel îs very big, the arhitecture very beautiful. The food at all the restaurants was surprisingly good (this îs not our first trip to Egypt, we had worst food over the years) and tasty. Repetitive, but You could eat Something for each meal. Service at the restaurants good, with small exceptions, staff friendly. The beach was the Best part : You have a very beautiful coral reef with many fish. It îs a bit of a wall and You need special shoes, but totaly worth IT. Downside: the pools are miserable! The Walter îs very dirty (on the bottom) and we saw hair and snot floating in there. They "clean" the Walter and there are pumps working but i didn't smell any chlorine or some other chemicals to keep the water clean. This should be taken care of. All in all, it was a Nice Holiday. Recommend. But ne advised, it îs 4* , not 5*.

Very beautiful place to be spending your vacation. Nice rooms.Good variety in food. Lots of charm and great atmosphere. Staff are kind and very friendly, and make a great effort to help you in times of need. We are definitely looking forward to be going back again.

It was one of the great experiences in Makadi. Friendly and helpful FO staff provided a good service during the check-in process. Our room view was wonderful of pools and natural environments. The hotel has a pathway that connects other 3 hotels gave us to go by the beach. Beach operation was good, providing basic snacks and drinks. Food on the buffet was enough after our experince in UK. Thanks to Mr John who took care of everything related to our vacation in the hotel. Nice staff taking care of you.

My first time in this hotel but my partner been a few times before with her family . It’s sold as all inclusive but certainly isn’t , most things extra although a few years ago it wasn’t . Deffo catered for Germans , not many English at all . It’s a bit dated in need of some work which we found out it’s going to be closer to be done . The pool is tatty , tiles and repairs everywhere . The pool was green at times . We complained about noise 3 times , people banging on doors at 3,30 am , nothing was done even though was next door ? We were told well they are leaving soon ? . No tv hardly for the 2 weeks, told they would come fix it , sometimes no one even came ? One restaurant is ok has been refurbished. Most al a cart restaurants are good apart from the one in the complex , food was awful on our visit . We heard staff talking saying that the hotel was terrible a few years ago , not a good advert . Joker bar is terrible , horrible drinks , flat soft drinks . Spirits poor . The cocktails are embarrassing in a normal glass with no alcohol or what we would call a cocktail. Wi fi useless unless you pay xtra , no tea coffee in room that’s extra ? Mini bar is extra ? Mini bar alcoholic extra ? Again this is advertised as all inclusive hotel . Hotel next door sounds better grand makardi , this has been renovated. Good holiday but spoilt with some things . Just not good enough, as an ex tour representative I would expect better and have stayed in much better to be fair . Staff service was ok to be fair not sure about the reception though .

Terrible disaster in the Botanical Garden Restaurant, which is part of the hotel and which you have to reserve in advance. The waiter was unfriendly, the folded napkin was dirty on the inside, and when we ordered lemon soda the waiter was obviously already overwhelmed. The food that was prepared was uncreative and absolutely tasteless. That's why there is only a photo of the botched banana split, which was simply inedible. The other dishes looked and tasted horrible. Even though the peak season is over, you shouldn't sink to such a level. I've eaten better in company canteens than here. The Thai Garden Restaurant next door, which is also part of the hotel, is the exact opposite. The staff are very friendly and committed. The dishes in the Thai restaurant are well prepared and tasty across the entire menu and the chef even comes personally to ask if everything is OK. A big compliment to the staff at the Thai restaurant. Which is why one has to say, it would be better to close the Botanical Garden rather than subjecting its guests to such rudeness and terrible food!!!!
