Great hostel, lots of activities and social group outings. Located very close to the Markets and Melbourne CBD with the free Tram zone so easy to get around with plenty to do.
I had a larger room but my friends had really small rooms that would be the only negative.
Great roof top space for evening views and socialising with hot tub.
The best hostel kitchen I've stayed in and have travelled the east coast and Western Australia. So many stations, great number of quality equipment and lots of space for food although fridges are always full np matter where you go.
Really happy with this stay.

I chose here because of Good location only 5 mins walk to Southern cross station where sky buses from=to airport are parking. And yes, good price ,worth.
Really appreciated the men receptions on Nov. 27th.,they both very nice andcfruendly speakung with smiley faces espwcially a cleaning lady whom gave help to carry my suircase 25kgs.upstair as I could not do that due to I just have drsssing wound getvpain on left lleg. But the lafy,reception of morning 28th.I would likevto say that she did nit has nice speaking I could nir feel her symphathy on my pain leg but the cleaning lady again to help me carry down my suitcase I knew that my tip to her 5 aud.could not equal her helpful heart but I did plus my thank you to hercfrom my heart.
About kitchen,Would be great if changed cleaning towels eveey an hour.
Big surprised was Wine&Cheese Wednesday party I love it,had fun.
Anyway, as for good price and goo location I still wantbto come back here every my next visit.

Best location near southernthern cross station..Train Metro Skybus everytjing perfect only a weakness is noisy night from metros I could not sleep well. (Hostel has ear plug for everybody I don't use,annoy it ! )

Staffs very friendly and helpful the one I very much thank you to her again here, is a reception lady whom helped she was carrying my big suitcase to room due tto I have wounded leg. Also glad to see a Thai staff here,Miss Ben.
Its my first time here I was stayed in anorher hoste maby times before, good luck it was full so I have found YHA, such the best for me. Worth !

I've stayed in this hostel before and I think it has improved a lot. The people from reception are more happy and welcoming and one of the guys I remember from my previous stay Sam was still working there. He is still a happy chap and gave a pleasant service to hostel guests like me. The room was clean, quiet and the bed linens were all good. One of the best things about this place is the location. Easy to access everything : restaurants, market, transportation, shopping malls, clubs and bars.

Location (5): in the free tram zone, it's easy to go around the CBD
Service and amenities (2): no free wifi, no AC, mess and noisy even though 1AM. it's a dormitory, so you can't desire more.
Cleanliness (2): The bed sheets are very old, but the bedroom is clean, and the shared zones are of course dirty.

The high-ceilinged, old-fashioned building exudes a unique charm, though the public bathrooms are a bit small. Rooms near the stairs might be noisy at night due to people coming and going, as there's no elevator. The beds are extremely comfortable, and complimentary drinks, including non-alcoholic options like juice, are available near the front desk. It's thoughtful to have coffee for sale downstairs as well! The common areas are spacious with plenty of spots to use a computer, watch TV, or have a quiet phone call.

My partner & I went to this hotel on the recommendation of the owner of our air Bnb nearby. Clare was our first contact & the drinks service was sharp & refreshing. We both had fish, salad & chips. Generous serving of yummy battered fish fillets, chips were crunchy as we like & green salad adequate as palate cleanser. Thank you to Clare for her service & the hotel for a great 1st night start to our Aussie Open Tennis.

We had a great stay in a comfortable and spacious room. Location is also great and public transport is close. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Value for money, the price is unbeatable for Australia.

HHaydnThe positives were the hotel staff, who were very accommodating and attentive, and the convienant free shuttle bus to and from the airport. The location itself is an ideal distance from the aiport, however it is quite old, with long, unattractive hallways of old red brick, which smelled of cigarettes and mustiness. The communal areas were extremely limited, as though an afterthought, and I can not imagine anyone actually using them, so they're likely just for show, but it doesn't look inviting. The view from the back side of the hotel looked out through some low trees to a dirt field, which is fair enough for a 3-star hotel, however there seems to be a large amount of (guard?) dogs being kept in a fenced area on that property only 40 metres away from the hotel, and they bark constantly, day and night, with peaks of extremely excited barking which is noticeably loud and hard to ignore. There were an old pair of dirty shorts clumped in the hotel's yard, right below the balconies and tree-line, which was a bit off-putting to see. There is not much around the hotel in walking distance, including public transport, so expect to use taxi or uber unless you want to walk extended distances.
Generally, the hotel was serviceable for an overnight stay. However, I do not recommend staying here for any more than an overnight layover. It was not a comfortable or enjoyable experience, and best used for budget stays only. The age of the hotel is very evident in its cramped and dated design.

GGuest UserStayed in a 1 bedroom apartment which was huge, plenty of space for young kids to play, even has a private small backyard! Very few motels with this. Great location for our needs on this trip. We expected it to be noisy being on the main road but it was not at all, very quiet for a peaceful sleep. Beds were comfortable. We needed a couple of extra things on arrival which were no trouble at all for the hosts. Well equipped full kitchen, big 6 seater dining table was great for a family of 5. Good sized nice bathroom, although the shower and grout was in need of a good spring clean with visible soap scum and parts of shower base slippery with soap scum. Carpet needs a steam clean, there were a few visible stains and the kids bare feet got very dirty quickly. Overall the unit was very clean despite these thinga. Definitely recommend for families (so much space!) and we would stay again.

Mmichael from maltaFirstly staff were very friendly and helpful, could not be faulted. Complained that internet was down, moved rooms but problem did not improve. Needed to sit in reception or in yard to check mails etc. Pool was closed but on last day attempts were being made to clean it so possibly will be opened in near future. It is a motel, so for those in a car probably very convenient, but if no car location not ideal as there is a fair walk to shops, Tram etc. All in all a good 11 day stay.

When we initially saw the 3.5 star rating online we were very skeptical in regards to what to expect. However the place was very well kept and condition great. The phone service was quite abrupt and phone manner was very rude and poor. The communication through email was very through. Otherwise a great experience.

TTONGSHANGThe location of the hotel is only one street away from the downtown area. At night, it feels very different. There are a lot less pedestrians on the road in front of the motel. But the benefit is relatively quiet. The parking in the yard is free, enough parking, breakfast is not available. The facilities are quite comprehensive and they are old. The little brother at the reception actually said a few simple Chinese.

张张I am Chinese. I have stayed at this hotel many times. The first time I feel it is acceptable. Now I feel worse and worse, but the location is better. The service can only be improved. There is no hot water in the bath, and the air conditioner is noisy. There is no spare pillow in the room, the sofa collapses, just the TV can meet the requirements. Such a room should not be offered to customers. I only stayed for one night so I didn't pursue other things. I won't stay at this hotel again.
