The food was significantly below standard. The breakfasts were certainly better than dinner but there was a scarcity mentality - i.e. the fruit on the buffet was not nearly enough for everybody; apart from one day where there was mini-breakfast-buffet, there was no choice on the hot breakfast (no eggs served as the standard, mostly french toast or pancakes, toast was not even available). The quality of the food at dinner was totally substandard - i.e. bobotie not made the right way with weird sambals drenched in some BBQ sauce and teaspoon fulls of veg (not even a mouthful), a South African braai with burnt chicken kebab (carcenogenic)/very dry burnt pork chops without any red meat in sight, the excess of the previous night served for breakfast (sausages and corn). Salads were promised but very disappointing. More was expected for the price. However, the real friendliness of the hosts made up for us as South Africans as we felt very at home in the culture. I am not sure whether this would have provided similar compensation for the tourists.

Leandra & her team did a tremendous job in creating our dream honeymoon! It was a trip of a lifetime! Saw Big 5, Matteo her Level 3 tracker was amazing! Food was some of the best my husband has ever had! Lovely to hear the lions roar @ night & watch the wildlife wander while eating breakfast from our table. We are coming back & bringing friends in a few years! Thanks Leandra, Mikhael, Munya, Joyce, etc. Literally it was a trip of a lifetime!

We went to Little Africa for close viewing of wild animals and achieved that, thanks to the skill and energy of the staff who operated the game drives in the private reserve around the lodge. Their excellence allowed us to exceed our expectations for animal viewing. The lodge is very comfortable and the service excellent: we felt welcomed and at home there.

This was our third safari near Kruger park and we would highly recommend Little Africa. Leandra is a wonderful hostess and has an excellent staff to back her up. The guide, Never, and tracker, Mateo, were excellent in spotting animals as well as providing a wealth of knowledge about them. The tents are comfortable and luxurious and the food excellent. The website is an excellent representation of what to expect and the price represents excellent value especially compared to the larger lodges in the area. A real gem with excellent game viewing as well.

This new safari lodge is a small gem in that it is a small family owned and run establishment with only seven luxury tents for a maximum capacity of fourteen guests. Even so, service is wonderful and the food is prepared fresh for every meal. At one point there were only three of us at the lodge and yet full service was given to us. We felt very pampered indeed! The owner is on the premises and often helps with meal service which is always very good and served with a smile. The "tents" are beautiful, new, thoughtfully appointed and even offer air conditioning! There is a nice pool with beautiful deck loungers from which you can observe wildlife if you are lucky. Both a tracker and a driver are at your disposal for the game drives. They were excellent and went above and beyond is search of the wildlife and I fully credit their expertise and will to please with finding the big five and many, many other animals, often accompanied by informative and very interesting narrative. We will remember Little Africa as a favorite experience and would not hesitate to recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a wonderful experience in a cozy, personalized environment.
