Foto Norton Motel

Was delighted with our stay at the Norton Motel. The rooms are really clean and the amenities are great. The beds were comfortable and the rooms are an excellent size. We had an issue one night with the smell of cigarette smoke coming into the room but this was addressed by the staff promptly. The check-in is done at another property close by but was told to us before we checked in. The staff were delightful. I was a little disappointed with the housekeeping. The room wasn’t cleaned or was just barely made up. The bed was made in a sloppy manner (see photo), they essentially just gave new towels and emptied the rubbish. It would have been nice if they told us beforehand that this is the level of housekeeping. The hallway smelt a little when we arrived and some things need a bit of a clean but overall I can’t fault it. I would stay here again.

Was a nice room, very spacious and clean. The only complaint was that we had to drive to a different location to check-in. Used it as a stopping off point for activities on the north island, like Hobbiton and the thermal wonderland.
