It was a perfect hotel stay for families visiting Hakone. The room was spacious for our family of three. Comfortable bed and well kept room amenities. The buffet breakfast and dinner food and drinks were delicious. We love our visit to the Hakone Kowakien Morinoyu which was included with our hotel stay.
The only thing I didn’t like was the checkin procedure. We had to use a machine to checkin instead of going to the checkin counter and have front desk staff processing for us. It was a terrible experience because the machine failed at recognising our passport and it was terribly hard to enter everyone’s details on the touch screen. I should have to do this myself as a guest. Please get rid of the machine check in.

I've had the pleasure of staying at several high-end hotels, including the Hakone Gora Byakudan. Without a doubt, Byakudan surpasses its competitors in every aspect. The service, facilities, and genuine care for guests are exceptional. I only wish I could have extended my stay. The room was flawlessly clean, and the bed provided a truly restful night's sleep. The staff were consistently friendly and attentive, readily available to assist with any needs. The hotel's location is convenient, offering easy access to local attractions. Additionally, the complimentary car service to nearby destinations such as art museums and the cable station was a thoughtful touch. The Japanese dinner and breakfast were beyond delicious, featuring a diverse array of options. The snacks and wine bar were equally impressive. I particularly enjoyed the massage chair and the delightful ice-cream selection. I wholeheartedly recommend the Hakone Gora Byakudan to anyone visiting the area

Ten-yu at Hakone Kowakien is a luxurious escape nestled in nature. The private onsen in every room, featuring Shigaraki-yaki bathtubs, is pure bliss. The infinity onsen on the 6th floor offers breathtaking views, especially at sunset. We loved the teppanyaki dinner at the historic Guest House, a true culinary experience. The serene valley garden is perfect for a relaxing stroll. The staff was attentive and the overall atmosphere was incredibly tranquil. Highly recommend for a rejuvenating getaway! Don't miss the delicious sashimi and crab for breakfast!

Excellent service! It was very crowded at check in but the friendly staff greeted us and sat us down at sofa, also directed us to welcome drinks and snacks.
It was a bit hard to find driving to the hotel after sunset as it was tugged away in a small street.
5 minutes drive from Gora station, 7 min to Open Air Museum, and 15 min to 大涌谷 volcanic steam vent.
The in room private onsen was great!! Public bath was a little disappointing, it’s quite small and co-ed, usage so we need to wear swim suits which felt a little awkward.

1. Convenient transportation: 4/5
By bus: get off in front of the 131 hotel, which is closer than the 130 Miyanoshita Onsen Station (the hotel is on a slope on the road, and there is a turn in front of the hotel to go uphill, so you don’t need to drag your luggage uphill at Miyanoshita Onsen Station)
By tram: get off at Miyanoshita OH54 and walk for 5 minutes, but the tram station is also on a slope above the road, so it’s a bit difficult to pull the suitcase
There are Lawson and 711 nearby, and it’s also very convenient to buy things
2. Hotel facilities: 4.5/5
Overall, it’s very good, and the amenities are all the standards of regular 5-star hotels, so I won’t say much. The furniture is American style and the design is very unique. If you have time at night, you can go to the hotel B1 History Museum to see the hotel’s history, including the hotel’s early development history, managers of successive generations, and the process of earthquake reconstruction, etc. The hotel should be the first hotel in Hakone to receive Western tourists. Many Western celebrities, politicians, and scientists have stayed in the hotel in history. The hotel itself is also a microcosm and witness of Japan’s history of opening up to the outside world.
3. Hot spring: On the top floor, the space is large and the facilities are good. Because we went there in winter, there were not many people, and it was basically a private hot spring. After playing all day, it was very comfortable to soak in a hot spring at night to relieve the cold and fatigue.
Overall: Choosing this hotel is definitely not only about the facilities and location, but also about its cultural atmosphere. The garden behind the hotel is very large, and it may be more beautiful in summer. Unfortunately, we went there in winter and the flowers were not in bloom. There is also a hiking trail to Mount Asama. If you have time, you can walk around more and feel the cultural atmosphere here

The best thing is the service! The decoration style is relatively modern, not very old-fashioned, you can communicate in English (many hotel communication is quite annoying), you can take the subway to Odawara Station, you will send an email before the trip, and the food is ordinary, not amazing.

This hotel is generally a bad choice, so choose carefully.
All the rooms are single-family villas, and they are surrounded by tall pine and cypress trees halfway up the mountain. It is indeed very quiet.
The room is in Nordic log style, and the space is quite large.
But as a high-end resort hotel, it fails for the following reasons:
1. The biggest complaint is that its food is very, very bad. It's not that I haven't eaten good Kaiseki cuisine. I have been to Japan many times and have experienced delicious Kaiseki cuisine in Kobe's hot spring hotel, and it is very filling. Let's put it this way, the food in this hotel is the worst Japanese cuisine I have eaten in all these years, no one else. There are almost no Japanese employees in the hotel. The people who received us, the waiters in the restaurant, and the people who cook in the kitchen are all Southeast Asians and Indians. Note that the chefs are also. I don't mean to say that Indians are bad, but the chances of them making authentic Japanese food and Japanese service are almost zero. I noticed that all the guests are foreigners, there are no local Japanese people, and I guess this hotel has been abandoned by local Japanese people.
2. The room is not clean. There are many mold spots on the wall. It is terrible for people who love cleanliness😟
3. At 4:00 a.m. on the night we stayed, the whole hotel suddenly lost power, and then the emergency power was activated. The big emergency lighting and doorbell rang repeatedly and shone over my head. It was really annoying to be woken up in the middle of the night. Then no one showed up or apologized or dealt with it afterwards. It's really speechless to encounter such a thing.
4. At 6:00 a.m., there was a radio broadcast, and then there was some prompt in Japanese... My God, I felt like I came here for military training. Then at about 7 or 8 o'clock, the sound of mowing the grass outside was very loud, and I couldn't rest well at all.
So in general, the experience of this hotel is very bad. There are other better options at this price. I will never consider it again. I have a shadow on it.

The house was clean and the owner was very nice.
The location was a bit far away from the main road. You may need to drive a narrow path up the hill to the house, but it brought you to a lovely forest.
We enjoyed so much during the stay.
The environment of the house was fantastic. It was surrounded by tall trees and the area inside the house was huge.
We enjoyed cooking at the kitchen which was equipped with various kinds of utensils and electric appliances.
The Hi-fi audio system was charming which you should never miss it.
It was an unforgettable stay and we would come back again in future.
Cheers.

Excellent
GGuest UserThe room is very big, with a Japanese-style table in the living room. Very cozy.
A complete set of Japanese travel clothes and socks and clogs, as well as bathrobes and white pajamas. The refrigerator is full of joy.
There is only one outdoor large bath (a little disappointing), but the unlimited popsicles make people very happy.
The hot spring is great!
The surprise is that there is the sound of stream water under the hot spring in the room.
The Huai Shi cuisine for dinner is amazing!
There are Western and Japanese breakfasts.
I met a ********* lady named Yu Ting for one-on-one reception. She explained all the facilities in the room and the park to us, and she also served dinner in person, telling us how to eat each dish.
There is ice drip coffee.
The welcome tea is also great. They came to help check in.
When leaving, there was a special car to take us to Kowakidani Train Station
章章Great experience! From the receptionist in the parking lot to the front desk and lounge are first class
As soon as I entered the wooden house, I smelled a faint woody fragrance, and my whole person suddenly relaxed a lot.
You have to take off your shoes when you enter the hotel, and the front desk will take care of them, so you directly step on the tatami with your feet, soft and comfortable.
The room is very large, there are three doors from the main door of the room to the position of the bed, so the room is very quiet.
The bed is very large, moderately soft and hard.
There is free water, beer and juice in the small refrigerator.
The electric kettle has hot water that has already been heated, and there is also a pot of room temperature water to drink next to it
The room is heated and air-conditioned at the same time
In addition to shampoo and other products, there are also toners, makeup lotions, and lotions that can be used. There are also hair loops for long hair. The whole arrangement is very careful.
The view of the room is first-rate, and soaking in a daze in the open-air hot spring is a first-class enjoyment.
Dinner and breakfast are in the restaurant on the second floor. Arrange a time with the waiter to go to the first floor and they will show you where to eat. Dining is in a semi-private room with tatami mats, and no other guests will be seen. The waiter for both meals is the same person, needless to say, polite, with a bright smile, very hard to explain the dishes in simple English.
It is suitable for people who like to be quiet, slow, and [not to see people]!

LLuyueyuanxinyuejinxingzheThe hotel is located in Sengokuhara, in the middle of a mountain. If you live on a high floor, you can see Mount Fuji when the weather is good. The room and the interior environment of the hotel can only be said to be acceptable, and it is still not as good as some domestic gold diamond level hotels. Service It was raining when we arrived. There were two staff members who could speak Chinese. The whole check-in process was perfect. We booked two meals. The dinner was exquisite and acceptable. We ordered a cup of coffee for after-meal drinks. The beans were too bad. I hope this can be improved. Breakfast was a bit careless. The French dinner rolls were bad. The desserts were placed for too long after the meal. The simple products should be completed about 5 minutes in advance. Bad reviews. There was no menu for breakfast. The ordering was too monotonous. I was forced to eat a few prepared dishes. There was no small range of choices. It was careless and seriously bad reviews. From breakfast to check-out, the whole process felt that there was no care. It was seriously mismatched for a gold diamond hotel.

SScott-srcAccommodation and meals were excellent. Quaint accommodation, onsen, meals were all great. Staff were very friendly, heard it is a historic accommodation but it is well preserved and a very nice place in many ways.
JJojoSincerely the most invincible hotel I have ever stayed in, good service check jn will take you back to your room to introduce all the items and operations in the room. Finally, he offered to take a group photo for us. The food is of very high standard and the portions are large. Outside the public bath there is milk ball soda ice cream free, the room also has many drinks and beer, the lobby has a 24-hour drink bar. The room also has free Bluetooth speakers and a telescope for stargazing. On the day of check out we would transfer to another hotel and offered to help us get our luggage to the next hotel and the shuttle bus would take us where we wanted to go. Shampoo and skincare Lots of different brands to use, and lots of snacks to eat.
P.s. We upgraded the room to the previous level for free

GGuest UserIt was a great experience. I booked both the Flower Garden and the White Sandalwood. Personally, I don’t think the White Sandalwood is as good as the Flower Garden. Of course, I have to book the one with a private hot spring on the first floor. But in fact, I think the essence of Japanese hot springs is not the hot spring in the room, but this I didn't have a chance to go to the public bath for the first time. Of course the price is here...
XXinaideCherryThe service is impeccable, everyone is very professional and welcoming. There is no public area in the hotel to go shopping, so you can only drive out to play and watch the scenery. I booked two rooms. This room is on a large flat floor and smoking is allowed. My husband is very satisfied. The breakfast and dinner are very rich and satisfying. When I left the store today, I found that even the shoes were wiped very clean, as if they were new
