The shaking of the elevator ๐ spills the cup of coffee. I felt very dangerous. Welcome drinks were very good. The service of Oden ๐ข and Ramen ๐ is the best. The private open-air bath was not good, but the underground bath was good. For dinner, grilled meat on a pottery plate ๐ฅฉ Hobamiso is delicious. Free alcohol drinks were also good. The water splitting of the sub-flowing water in Hida was the most fun. At breakfast, Orange ๐ was very sweet and delicious. I wish I had ice cream. In terms of price, I will give you a passing score. In addition, please provide customer service. I would like to use it again. Fireworks ๐ also looked a little!

Go out of Gero station, turn left and walk for three minutes, and then you can check in at three o'clock in the afternoon. You can put your luggage in the room where the landlord of the hotel will carry the luggage up. There are showers and toilets on the second or third floor. Basically, you can just take the bath outside. The shower that comes back to sleep is less than the sink on the third floor. It seems that there is no hot water. The wooden building. The room is poorly soundproof. It is recommended to arrive early in Gero 1300ยฅ.

The facilities were well-kept, and the traditional ambiance combined with modern conveniences made our visit both relaxing and comfortable. The onsen was a highlight, offering a serene and rejuvenating experience. The staff were incredibly attentive and made us feel welcomed throughout our stay. The hotel is very close to the JR station, within a 5-minute walk. The hotel is very Japanese, and you need to take off your shoes to enter the lobby. The hotel will communicate with you in advance, and you need to check in before 6 o'clock to prepare dinner. Because the day of check-in happened to be my son's birthday, I also communicated with the hotel in advance and booked a cake. When the cake was delivered, there was a birthday ceremony, which was quite a surprise. There is a hot spring on the first floor of the hotel, both indoors and outdoors. It feels very good to soak in the hot spring outdoors in the snow. But I understand that you can only check in after 3 o'clock, but it feels uncomfortable that you can't even sit in the lobby before 3 o'clock. In addition, it may be a more historical hot spring hotel. The hot spring facilities are average, the outdoor soup is relatively small, and the place to change clothes feels a bit cold. But the advantage is that the hot spring water is really good, and it feels slippery after soaking. Another thing is that checking out at 10 am feels a bit early. Another thing is that I may be uninformed. The private bath written on the reservation is just a small bathtub ๐ But the overall feeling is still good

A very satisfactory stay. The environment is clean and hygienic, the staff are friendly, and the service is very good. There is a shuttle bus to and from Gero Station. You can enjoy two meals in the room for one stay. The food is generous and the dishes are very exquisite and beautiful. My family is very satisfied.
Close to the station, free-flowing natural hot spring available, and affordably priced! !

The room was large, clean and tidy and comfortable. The service was very good because it was a late bus from the wife cage (two hours late). It was only after 10:30 in the evening. It was originally said that I had to check in before 10 o'clock. I was worried that I could not live. I didn't expect the boss to wait for me and gave it back. The pot of hot water and because it is late, enjoy the private soup, Meimei soaked in a single hot spring

The hotel is very good. Before arriving 1 hour, because of heavy snow, I immediately changed my accommodation. So I looked for a new one. I decided to sleep at Gero Onsen. I found the hotel and chose the room type when I arrived. There was a small problem because it seemed like the hotel asked to check first and waited for 10 minutes. I got a room on the 10th floor. It was big and had a beautiful view. The onsen was very very good. It was a mixed room separated by gender on the 8th floor. There were both rooms and open-door access to the outdoor. The view of the snow was fluffy. It was suitable for all ages. Children and the elderly loved it. The breakfast was varied, but too salty for me... In conclusion, I was not tired anymore and was impressed. I want to stay again.
Note: The bathroom seemed to be cold water. We had to use the hot water in the shared bathroom (onsen).
- I couldn't find the water in the room. There was only a kettle with cold water for boiling water.
But there was a tea set provided. ๐ฅฒ So I didn't know which floor to get the hot water. I was afraid of being thirsty, so I went down to buy some water (I'm not sure if I didn't prepare everything).

Excellent
GGuest UserThe hotel has few rooms, but it is very clean, tidy and warm. The food is Japanese style and the ingredients are very fresh. The indoor and outdoor hot springs are on two different floors, which is not very convenient. The service is very good. When checking in, they will introduce the hotel facilities and some precautions for check-in. Every service staff is very enthusiastic. Alipay and UnionPay cards are not accepted for payment at check-out, and it is not very convenient to use cash.
MmagelIt's far from the JR station, but the hotel provides free round-trip taxi service.
The hotel photos show that it's old, but it's actually much newer than the photos. Compared with other hotels, it's very private and elegant.
There are indoor and outdoor public hot springs and a private hot spring, but there are few people staying in the public hot spring, which is like a private hot spring. It's worth it!
The dinner is amazing, and the breakfast is ordinary (a lot of fish is a bit fishy).
Disadvantages: I don't know why there is no floor heating. The room is very large, but the air conditioning is not strong enough, so the room is always cold and not warm enough.
GGuest UserThe staff welcomed us at the hotel entrance and helped us check in the hotel quickly. The staff was very helpful in explaining the hotel layout and where our meals would take place, and made sure we understood before leaving. The dinner and breakfast service were amazing, the ingredients were very fresh and delicious. Their hotel has an outdoor foot bath with towels provided which I enjoyed immensely. The hotel is very clean and has shuttle service which was convenient since it is on a hill. We enjoyed our stay very much.
CConstanceThis appears to be a family-run business with warm hearted hospitality. The hosts didnโt speak much English but we managed to use a digital translator to communicate.
Am grateful the hotel provides free shuttle pick up from Hida Osaka Train station. We had to get our previous hotel to ring Senyukan to inform them
about the expected timing of our train arrival. We appreciate the immense patience of the hotel shuttle driver. She put up with 2 changes of timing of our train arrival because of significant delays from the Highway bus from Nagoya to Takayama where we had to connect to Hida Osaka Train station.
We had booked to stay 3 nights and loved every moment of the stay. The kaiseki Hida Beef dinner had the perfect balance of sweet/sour/ salty taste. Each dinner also had a cooked fish either grilled, steamed or poached, in addition to sashimi ( raw seafood). The soup was exquisitely flavourful as was the freshly prepared salad and tempura ( deep fried vegetable fritters). All the food items were plated with pleasing artistry.
We had booked the hotel for its hotsprings which lived up to their therapeutic reputation. Although the sex-segregated pools were for hotel guests,
we found ourselves often the only ones who used them at the time. Highly recommend this hotel for its affordability and wonderful value-added hospitality.
The only downside of the hotel is that the wifi signal is not always stable in the guest rooms. But wifi is more accessible from the hotel lobby.
GGuest UserIt is a good facility that does not match the low price. The front desk staff was also friendly, and they provide dinner and breakfast, which were delicious.
It is inconvenient to get there by public transportation.
There is a shuttle bus from Hida Hagiwara Station, but you have to make a reservation by phone the day before, so it may be inconvenient for foreigners to use.
GGuest UserExcellent! Very satisfied for this onsen hotel!! Definitely recommend this accommodation to friends and family. Everything is over expectation: services, facilities, room, public bath (onsen), food, and all. One drawback would be language barrier between some staff, but they really trying to communicate with us which is impressive. Also, there is a free shuttle bus service between train station and hotel during daytime, very convenient. Tips for me is to book this hotel on weekdays, it is half price cheaper than weekends or holidays.
JJoyce**Hotel Review**
Unfortunately, my experience at this hot spring hotel did not meet expectations. The dinner service was particularly lacking. The food had already been set up in the room before we arrived, and the waiter offered minimal assistance, only asking if we had lit the fire. There was no explanation of the dishes, nor was a menu provided. To make matters worse, the necessary cutlery for different courses was repeatedly overlooked, which detracted from the overall dining experience. The food itself was unremarkable and didnโt compare to what other hot spring hotels typically offer.
The private onsen also posed a challenge. The water switch was broken, leaving no way to adjust the temperature or water flow, resulting in water that was uncomfortably hot throughout our stay. Breakfast the next morning was very basic and lacked the variety or creativity Iโve come to expect from similar establishments. Overall, the hotel did not live up to the standards Iโve experienced elsewhere and left much room for improvement.
GGuest UserThe hotel is a little far from Gero JR Station, about 15 minutes walk. There was a service staff at the door with a list to greet us. The hotel is retro in style. We were assigned an English-speaking butler. We ordered dinner and breakfast, and there are several time slots to choose from. All meals are served in the room. There are many dishes with their own characteristics. The Hida beef Xiabu for dinner is well received and the overall portion is sufficient. The butler is responsible for serving and introducing the dishes, and someone is responsible for making the bed after the meal. There is a large bathroom on the roof and an open-air hot spring in the old building downstairs. The latter allows the whole family to bathe for half an hour at their own time. The area is not large, and it can barely squeeze in 2 adults and 1 child, but it is a special flavor to soak in the open-air hot spring on a snowy day. Overall, I feel satisfied.
GGuest UserAn old hotel that retains its grandness..
Although at check in, I was informed there's a charge only if I take the flowery yukata. There are free surprises in the Japanese room every day.
Clean Japanese socks, towels in bags and a different Japanese sweet every day with Japanese tea
My room faces the Hida River, it was beautiful looking out. It is very near the rail line, but it didn't disturb me.
And I suppose all river facing hotels face the same light loving insects. But if you follow the instructions placed in the room, it is alright
DDonovan_lIt was a comfortable, family-run Ryokan style inn. There is free parking for those who drive. It is also walking distance from the train station. We arrived after dark and the staff told us there was no more dinner, so they recommended us a dinner place nearby.
For breakfast which was included, it was a full set and really delicious Japanese platter. We ate to our heartโs content. The onsen is located on the basement and the 4th floor, I like it specially for the rooftop onsen. The men and women onsen will swap at certain timings to allow each gender to enjoy the facilities at the rooftop. They give clear instructions on a piece of paper, and you just need to look at the colour of the cloth hanging outside the onsen. The hotel is located near the town centre, so you can walk around easily.
