A very pleasant stay for 3 nights. Reminded me so much of days gone by when I was a kid traveling with my parents in the 70's every summer for two weeks. We stayed at these "Mom and Pop" places that actually had a real key (like this one!) to enter the room. In agreement with most reviewers, the room was very clean. And, the room was restocked with fresh towels and coffee every morning. We did not spend a lot of time in the room as we were usually out for most of the day hiking the Smokies and exploring. What we liked: the nostalgia, cleanliness, bed and pillow comfort, genorously-sized mini fridge/freezer, microwave, free parking directly in front of the room (hard-to-find parking in and around Gatlinburg is $10-$15), nice pool, friendly "all-in-the-family" owners/staff and exceptionally easy, three-minute walk to the main drag and the Village (where I would grab a couple donuts and coffees early every morning from the Donut Friar.) What we found "interesting": the shower as the shower head only reached 5'5" high (don't know if that's the height placement in all the rooms, but that's what it was for room #2). For an exceptionally tall person like my husband, he needed to use the handheld showerhead. Not a deal breaker by any means. We've just never seen a showerhead placed so low in a shower. Obviously a reason for this when the motel was renovated, but just...interesting. A hot tub by the pool would've been nice to sit in after a long day hiking and finally the cute bear bedside lamp had some functionality issues. Yes, we definitely would stay here again--in a heartbeat. It appeared that most guests were older couples (like us!)
