We came here for 10 nights to celebrate my husbands 60th and it couldn't have been more perfect! We loved this hotel, what a wonderful, tranquil place in the centre of Funchal. The gardens are a delight and a real haven for birds and butterflies, the gardeners do a wonderful job and you feel you can breathe in this hotel. The hotel itself is delightful, with first class staff, and food and two delightful pools. We dined half board every night in the Manor House, and what a treat it was. The food was amazing and some reasonably priced wines which is not often the case in such establishments. Breakfast on the outside terrace is lovely, with a buffet of pretty much all you can think of, as well a cooked options, such as eggs benedict, omelette, pancakes etc. They do a lovely assortment of lunch options too! We opted for a premium room and so glad we did, room was huge, with a large bathroom and a daybed and chair on the balcony, if you can afford the splurge,then consider one of these. Yes, in fairness the rooms are a tad dated, but that didn't detract for us as it was impeccably clean and we both said that should we visit Madeira again this would be our first choice of hotel, no question. Also a big thank you to the staff for making our holiday so special and working so hard to make this hotel so unique

We stayed in the QdCB for one week in June and really enjoyed our time here. We liked the stylish design of the hotel with its lovely and well maintained gardens. Although the road outside the hotel could be busy at certain times of the day, we were not aware of road noise in the hotel grounds. Our ground floor room in the garden block was spacious and had two reclining beds on the patio facing the garden. The beds in the room are very comfortable. The only minor criticism is that the bath/shower combination is very narrow and possibly in need of updating. Breakfast (either on the terrace or inside) was a highlight. Lots of fresh fruit, cakes and pastries, breads, cheeses and meats to choose from, plus hot food that could be ordered. The breakfast team were very helpful and friendly. It was lovely to sit outside looking over the grounds to the hills above Funchal. We made use of the small gym, sauna and jacuzzi which were empty most of the time we were there. Hotel staff are excellent and very helpful. From the reception team to those who maintained the rooms and gardens everyone did a great job. The hotel is on the west side of Funchal and uphill from the waterfront. We walked into Funchal several times and also ran down to the waterfront and along the pedestrianised areas. The hills make for a good workout. We would happily return for another stay…

Gorgeous hotel, set amid tropical gardens that are immaculately kept. Staff friendly and helpful and a good selection of breakfast items. Walkable to the centre and the other hotel area. The garden rooms looked a little dated. Downside for me was the mosquitoes, I am susceptible, but naively was unaware that Madeira had them. The grounds unsurprisingly were full of them and we kept finding them in our room, so had around 20 itchy bites by the time I left. Bring repellant and bite cream if you attract them. The cabin on the flight home was sprayed so I guess there is a problem!

Another fabulous holiday in our favourite hotels on the island of Madeira. Nothing is too much trouble. From reception to the restaurant to the bar staff and the ladies who clean our rooms. The gardens are delightful, it’s like Kew but on a smaller scale.

We were happy to return to QCB , just as good as we remembered. Such a welcoming and relaxing place to stay. Every member of the team was helpful, friendly and made us feel welcome. Enjoyed a delicious meal in the Manor House, breakfast had something for everyone and a great way to start the day sat on the terrace. We hope to return next year.

This was our second time at the Quinta da casa Branca. The hotel has excellent service and we were pleasantly surprised by the foreign language skills at reception. If you are looking for a relaxed and quiet vacation in very well-kept surroundings, this is the place for you. Due to the higher average age of the guests, it is rather quiet here, which we really liked. The whole complex in the middle of a botanical garden is spacious and you rarely meet other guests. Quinta da Casa Branca is the opposite of the usual mass tourism. We had a really good rest here. Maylin und Markus Weber

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights in November 2024 — it is a very beautiful hotel with excellent service - there was a very nice excellent garden outside our room which was amazing and the room was very good. We took the Garden Room with garden view — It had a very nice terrace with 2 comfortable loungers. The staff were very very friendly / cordial - on the first night we had food at one of the restaurants in the hotel and it was really good - I ordered the Veg Burger which was amazing. The french fries that I ordered were very good - the breakfast was very good. In the staff, Ms. Erica at the reception and Mr. Nuno were excellent. The location of the hotel was very good because there were nice restaurants like the white house restaurant and Papa Manuel Lido restaurant very near to the hotel and they had amazing food and great service. Grocery stores like Spar and supermarkets like Pingo Doce were very close.
