Hotel Quinta Das Vistas

It reopen from juni 2024 with new management. Totally renovated. I stayed her for my holiday. Amazing view, Nice and with styl decorated rooms, Great, friendly and helpful staff. Food is good. They make you feel special and welcome. Good place to stay and explore Madeira

This venue Quinta Funchal Gardens is a re-incarnation of Las Vistas Hotel.. Now owned by Barcelo Group it has retained its sense of Portuguese Quinta charm. I believe 70+ rooms Adults Only. Atmosphere/Ambiance Soft quiet relaxing streamed music throughout. Lounge areas consisting of comfortable tradional armchairs/rugs/soft lighting.. a piano platform (no performances during our visit in January) The Hotel seemed to be under occupied..we only saw probably 20 different people during a ten day visit...a very quiet and peaceful time of year after the Christmas and New Year festivities which I understand attracted a full house. Indoor and outdoor and Spa facilities fully functioning and delightful. We reserved a "panoramic" view King bed room and the view from the 2nd floor balcony was truly panoramic with views over Funchal City up to Monte and down to the Atlantic. Please note however this side of the Hotel does not benefit from sun hours on the balcony ..this is easily rectified by strolling around a semi circular perimeter overlooking Funchal/Harbour & Ocean with both pools situated facing all day sunshine East to West. The Staff were all friendly helpful and efficient. Location is up in the hills overlooking Funchal but if you are looking to pop out for a local shop for water/snacks etc it is in that sense a bit isolated because of the terrain. Bus routes are around nearby but we opted for a simple taxi into Funchal for less than 20 euros return for convenience and enjoyed lunches in Funchal together with a cable car trip to Monte Palace gardens and the Old Town and Fort in Funchal. All said..our overall experience of the Hotel and Holiday ( we stayed on a Half Board basis) and the food should be rated @ 9/10 . We appreciated the quiet adults only aspect and enjoyed the garden. Some room for fine tuning but would probably come back again.

Generally good, but several dated features though and some refurbishment needed. Biggest issue was lack of restaurant & room service on "gala" dinner evenings (if not partaking), especially as there's no alternatives locally (taxi or bus ride into Central Funchal required).

The hotel is beautiful, but many areas were badly maintained. It needs far more attention on maintenance. Buckets to hold the leaked water in a beautiful lobby isn´t acceptable at all. An old damaged carpet at the room is also unnaceptable. The staff is great and all meals were of great quality. But at times they´re understaffed, the pool area has nobody around. The indoor pool was dirty and freezing cold. If they fix the maintenance issues and hire more staff the hotel could be an excellent five stars.

Of all the places I have stayed( and they are many) this takes the top price. Staff, surroundings and not least a very young and skilled chef makes a huge effort to accomodate all wishes. Highly recommended. In june they are still working on getting everything up to level, but even before finnishing, the Quinta is impressingly good. I cant wait to come back
