Hotel Grazia Alla Scannella

After reading the last 5 star reviews I can only confirm these reviews are very accurate and their words describe the hotel beautifully. We too had a wonderful holiday and would like to thank everyone for making our stay at Hotel Grazia alla Scannella a memorable one. We will definitely aim to visit again in the near future. We have no doubt one day you'll reach 5 stars ⭐ ( but please don't change too much). A special mention should go to Ahmed, Stani, Galliano, Gaetano, Maurizio (007) Yolanda and our friendly bus driver, always helpful. To be honest every member of this hotel should be mentioned but I can't remember all their names. ( Sorry, senior moment). Grazie a tutti! 🤗

I had a room with an amazing see view. The room was cleaned every day. The staff was caring and very kind. The food was excellent but the hotel is too far from Ischia city center

Absolutely wonderful hotel with amazing, attentive staff who couldn’t do enough for us. The pool and sun lounger area is beautiful, overlooking the sea with the most incredible views. The breakfast is great with lots of choice. The main restaurant is good with a set menu for €40 per person for 4 courses. The antipasti and pasta dishes are particularly good. The spa area is nice if a little dated and the cool pools are not cool due to the heat of the sun however the massage I had from Guiseppe was wonderful. The free shuttle bus is a great service taking you to the beach and into Forio. We had a few meals and cocktails and did some shopping in Forio, it has a lovely holiday vibe. The hotel is very quiet so it’s nice to go into town for a few drinks and a different atmosphere. The highlight of the holiday was the new sunset restaurant in the hotel. It was divine, the food, wine and service were second to none and the view of the sunset was incredible. This hotel deserves its 5/5 rating. I hope we can come back soon

Where do I start? Wonderful, unique hotel perched high on a hill a few km from Forio. Our first floor room had an uninterrupted view of the sparkling sea, with a wraparound balcony, simple but clean en suite, and generous wardrobe/drawers/ hanging space. The Aircon is extremely effective and it was 30⁰ outside whilst we were there, and about to get hotter. As for the hotel, lots of nooks and crannies, airy seating areas for chilling and enjoying a (superb) cocktail or just reading, a generous spa with thermal pools, indoor pool and sauna, a fabulous outdoor pool (probably one of the biggest we've used so far), several options for outdoor seating, either by the pool or in the various gardens, 2/3 restaurants/bistro, a bar with an excellent evening pianist/singer, the list is endless... The reception staff are all on the ball, quick to answer questions, provide advice for trips, and generally make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Michele is a credit to the hotel, we found him really helpful as well as extremely amusing! We made use of the shuttle several times, and also had a rather exhilarating taxi ride (Regina's taxi, a retro delight in funky turquoise). The nearest beach is lovely, the sea very clear and warm. The hotel offers its guests a discount for loungers and parasol. Forio, the local town has pretty side streets and alleys, lovely boutiques and cafés, as does St Angelo. Both are worth a visit Secret Escapes, our travel agents, had booked a boat trip around the island (Capitan Morgan) which was very enjoyable, and we also visited the Giardini la Mortella independently. These beautiful gardens have a partnership with the RHS so take your membership card if you have one. Breakfast and dinner are served in a huge room in the middle of which a long, long table overflows with delicious goodies. At breakfast there's a choice of cereals, fruit salads, juices, yogurts, condiments and fresh honey, cold meats, cheeses, tasty pastries (the croissants are huge and excellent), fresh breads and rolls and cakes. You can have a traditional cooked breakfast and/or pancakes (we didn't opt for these as we were more than happy with the buffet choice on the central table.) Attentive waiters bring hot drinks or whisk away your plates. It's service with a smile 24/7, regardless of who's serving you at that particular moment. In the evening you sit at the same allocated table, in the morning you can sit anywhere you like. The waiters and the Maître d' move freely around the large dining room, making sure everyone is being served, new cutlery presented, glasses replenished. It's a system that absolutely works. Dinner is extensive. Four courses, a buffet replete with salads, roasted vegetables, cold cuts and cheese, followed by a first course (the pasta is inevitably great!), second course and dessert (the cakes are to die for, the tiramisu and millefeuille particularly mouthwatering). We celebrated our wedding in the Maruzzella restaurant at the Hotel Grazia Alla Scannella. The food, the service and the location must be experienced to be believed. The selection of food prepared in the open kitchen was impressive with dishes to suit all tastes including one of our guests who is gluten intolerant. The cool breeze coming off the sea made us comfortable. Mattia and the team were attentive, professional and their smiles and good humour added to the joyful atmosphere. This was a convalidation of our marriage of 30 years and we and our guests have attended many wedding receptions. We all agreed this was the best we have ever experienced! During our 2 week stay, we also treated ourselves to dinner at the Maruzzella Restaurant which simply must be experienced. Mariemma, whose elegant taste and artistic genius is evident in the décor, is also responsible for many of the finer touches added to our wedding reception. It is impossible to describe how it feels to dine in such comfort while you watch the sunset. We have stayed at the Grazia alla Scannella for a number of years. This year, 8 friends stayed with us and as always, the service, food and accommodation were exceptional. It was wonderful to see our friend’s reaction to the exceptional view from the terrace. We will never forget the evenings we all spent on the terrace bar enjoying the musical talent of Aldo, who seems to have a song or tune to suit everyone! As always, the Saturday evening Gala was fantastic and maître d, Stani was in fine voice. All the staff from the smiling gardeners, bar staff, reception team, waiters and cleaners are not just efficient; they seem to know what you want and need before you know it yourself! We have used many superlatives to describe this outstanding hotel over the years but as you will see from the many, many positive reviews we are not alone. Our wedding convalidation was a very important event for us and we did not hesitate in entrusting Antonio, Mariemma and the entire crew in taking care of every little detail. Most visitors agree they would return and we believe that speaks for itself. The benchmark for hospitality excellence.
