Morocco has been the top of my bucket list for over 30 years. During that time, I obviously dreamt about the details. Riad Jaouhara was those dreams come to life. The location is perfect-close to the the square where taxis pick up and drop off for reliable transporation to and from the riad but deep enough into the Medina that you feel as if you've stepped into a different time. The "new" Medina is right outside your door and the "old" Medina is an easy walk (even carrying shopping bags!). The riad itself is so beautiful. It's been lovingly restored from the courtyard to the rooms to the rooftop. The bed was so comfortable and the heat was so warm (we were there during December, so it was chilly outside); it was the best sleep we got throughout our whole trip. Breakfast is delicious. Note: there are a lot of stairs, so if you have mobility issues, ask for a room on the ground level. The people are kind and helpful. Any questions you have or arrangements you need made, they are eager to help. We were there for five days and truly felt like we were at home.

Riad Jaouhara is a gem. An old merchants’ home with years of history, it has been lovingly restored in traditional style to what would have been its former glory. The tile work, the caved wooden doors, the beautiful patio complete with plunge pool and resident birds all add to the tranquility one feels on stepping from the hustle and bustle at the edge of the Medina into a bye gone era. The smiling staff are friendly and caring…nothing is too much trouble. Traditional breakfast is served at tables scattered around the patio..delicious. Beds are firm and comfortable and there is a bar fridge in the room. We stayed downstairs in a room opening directly on to the patio with a separate seating area. Wifi is not the best, but neither was the phone signal…probably blocked by very dense walls. However I noted pigeons had boxes on the rooftop so perhaps the merchant who owned the house had a more functional communication system than the present day. The view from the rooftop is spectacular. THANK YOU for making our stay memorable.

This Riad is beautiful and peaceful even though you are just a few steps from the main entry to the Medina. Great restaurants just outside the door and they helped us find a súper guide to learn more about Morocco

We really enjoyed our stay here, all the staff are lovely and speak good English and will help you out where they can. Our room was very generous in size and the court yard was our balcony which was gorgeous. The roof terrace overlooks the whole of old Fes. This Riad is just next to the Blue gate and the start of the souks (street markets) this was ideal . I would definitely recommend staying at Riad Jaouhara. 😁

La localisation de ce riad est exceptionnelle près de la porte Boujloud, à la croisée des 2 rues principales de la vieille ville. Ensuite, ce n'est pas un hôtel mais une maison d'hôte. Et AbdelAli accueille ses convives dans cet esprit. L'accueil est excellent, pleins de petites attentions. Les chambres sont propres et ont une décoration de très bon goût. Nous avions eu la suite Dekkakine qui est magnifique! Côté petit déjeuner, il est copieux et très bon. Je n'ai que des éloges concernant ce riad. Un grand merci à Abdelali et à son équipe.

Tres beau riad, tres bien situe dans la medina,a proximite des rues animees z et de la porte bleue, personnel tres aimable et serviable.le seul point noir est le manque d eau chaude.peut etre car nous etions au dernier etage! Nous avons beaucoup aime ce sejour malgre la pluie (qui aurait pu croire ca a Fes )

Ottima posizione vicinissima alla Porta Blu. Camera accogliente e pulita. Staff sempre gentile e disponibile. Colazione molto buona. Un particolare ringraziamento ad Abdul e Youssef che il giorno della partenza ci hanno preparato personalmente la colazione prima dell'orario previsto. Decisamente raccomandabile.

Séjour très agréable au Riad Jaouhara! Lieu paisible, beau jardin luxuriant, petit bassin rafraîchissant. Simplicité et détente assurée. L’accueil est agréable, discret et simple. Le personnel est à l’écoute et toujours disponible. Le Riad est très propre et extrêmement bien situé dans la Médina Fès-el-Bali: à proximité immédiate des deux principales allées de la médina (le Tala’a Kbira et le Tala’a Sghira) et à 2 min de l’emblématique Porte Bleue de Fès (Bab Boujeloud), ce qui vous permet de prendre un taxi rapidement pour rejoindre la ville nouvelle ou l’extérieur de la ville. Nous avons séjourné 4 nuits au Riad, séjour de couple. Ne servent pas d’alcool (comme quasiment tous les établissements de la Medina), mais vous pouvez ramener vos propres boissons alcoolisées pour les boire dans le jardin. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et tout à fait local. Présence d’un rooftop mais accès limité (il faut demander la clef à l’accueil). Vous pouvez contacter le Riad pour qu’il vous envoie un taxi à l’aéroport (15€, tarif normal).
