Hotel Bintang 4 Fenghuang Populer

The hotel is located next to the ancient city. It takes more than ten minutes to walk to the core area, but it is only a few dozen meters to the maglev station. The room was very clean, and the hotel also provided free fruit and baked sweet potatoes, which were delicious.

Pros- Great location by the river, beautiful and close walking distance to the food shops, famous bridges and the red lady singing on the boat (5-10mins). Clean warm room. Bit of scuff marks and stuff on the walls and wooden furnitures but overall charming, nice and modern and no like stinky smells from the river/mosquitoes/cigarettes etc. Warm showers and has all the standard amenities (hairdryer, soap shampoo, shaver etc). The manager is super friendly and hospitable even though she doesn’t speak English she really tries her best to help. Cons- noisy bars and karaoke until 11pm, tour groups in the morning start like at 7am below the balcony (maybe one or two when I was there 2 days) and 9am construction work starts. The free tour is sadly in Chinese only, and the free outfit doesn’t include photos or makeup, it is about 199 yuan for that but if you don’t want photos or makeup it’s free. Don’t think they wash the outfits super often either. Laundry is apparently not a proper one and you have to hand wash. No lifts if you have a lot of luggage.

Outstanding service! We booked less than 1 hour before we were due to arrive and the host contacted us 15 mins after to ask our arrival time at the railway station and offered us a free pickup service back to the hostel. Check in was fast and easy and the host even had already warmed our rooms up before we arrived as it was cold outside. The room was clean, tidy and the theme was very special. The view of the river was spectacular with a bathtub right by the window with the view. The shower room and toilet was right by the door and was clean and had all the basics and a good hairdryer. The toilet was a Japanese bidet. Very hygienic and fun if you have not tried one before. The location of the hostel was very good as it was right at the beginning of the tourist route along the river. Lots of restaurants around the hotel. The host gave great information about the tourist area and also gave us a tourist map. Breakfast was great! Highly recommended! Very good price for the location and level of service!

We contacted the hotel a few weeks prior to arrange for a pick up at the fenghuanggucheng train station. They picked us up from the train station for free. As soon as we arrive, the boss greeted us and the staff helped bring our luggage to our room. We were also shown different rooms when we arrived, and they upgraded us to their suite room free of charge. The staff are always nice , smiling and helpful. Great location, hotel located away from the major noise but right in the action. We have been travelling around the Philippines, South Korea and China and decided to stay in Fenghuang old town for two nights, and we are grateful that we got some much needed rest. There's a few cheap breakfast options around the hotel. Highly recommended hotel, we would stay here again the next time we come back to Fenghuang old town!

The sanitation is relatively clean. It is a two-story house with a circular steel structure + glass. The first floor is the bathroom and living room, and the second floor is the room. Advantages: The room type is special and children like it. It is located in Nanhua Mountain. You can overlook the night view of the ancient city from the room. You can also lie on the bed to enjoy the scenery by opening the curtains. It feels pretty good. The hotel is right by the Hongqiao River. There is a dedicated housekeeper who can help you book tickets. Disadvantages: The room is on the mountain. Although there is an elevator, it takes more than 1 minute to walk. It is also a challenge to return to the hotel to rest after a day of sightseeing or halfway. The bathroom is indeed a bit small, the drainage is a bit not very good, and there is no place to put toiletries.

The hotel is in a great location, right next to the Phoenix Ancient Town, with free parking, and the hotel staff is very considerate, thumbs up. The room is clean and tidy. Because it is an old hotel, the decoration inside is inevitably a bit old, but the price-performance ratio is still very high. We have chosen to stay here twice when we came to Phoenix Ancient Town.

I made an appointment with friends to travel around the area on the weekend, and I specially found a homestay with a yard. The yard is very unique and the homestay also provides costumes for guests to take pictures. If you are not here specifically to take ethnic photos, it is enough to take pictures in the store yourself! There are scenery and costumes! Very good photos! The key is that you don’t have to pay separately! The boss is also very attentive. Several friends who came together were arranged on the same floor, and the room was upgraded for free☺️

The hotel is very close to the bridge just walk 5 mins. Good location to walk around the ancient city and along the river. The service is superb. You need to contact hotel in advance as they need to meet you at the parking lot and bring you the hotel. The breakfast is at the restaurant nearby (local chinese style). The noodle soup is very delicious. Special thanks to Xiao Hong and Ar Ming for very nice hospitality. As there is no Didi in Fenghuang, they helped us to book the car to the airport and made sure that we arrived at the airport safely. Although they speak very limit English, we can communicate with WeChat. The ancient city view at night is very beautiful but also very crowded with people dressed in the ancient costume and taking pictures everywhere. It was difficult to walk and enjoy the night view as it is a bit noisy because of the people and music from bars along the river. Day time is more peaceful to walk around.

We had the best service of our trip at this hotel- they truly go beyond and above. It was only a 15min Didi from the train station, also the bus shuttle from HSR to the city is right in front of the hotel. The location is perfectly situated at one side of the main bridge, but a nice 5min stroll away such that you are away from the noise on the main strip (in front of the river). Also, no mosquitoes. We initially booked a riverfront hotel but I am SO glad that we changed to this hotel after actually walking the whole tourist strip on foot. Legit the cobblestones near the river are terrible, and cars can’t get in so it’d have been a nightmare. Next, Xiao Dai （小代） who helped us and the manager were all so sweet. 小代answered all our WeChat questions extremely promptly (literally 1-2mins), and when we asked about the free laundry self use machine onsite, she offered to have us leave it in our room and do it for us so we could go out and explore. I thought this was truly above and beyond- she picked the clothes up from our room, washed them (separately as well for colours and whites), hung them and sent us a photo, dried them and returned them to us folded and freshly laundered. We were simply floored by this level of service. They are so so so kind and I can’t recommend this hotel enough for their kindness and eagerness to ensure your comfort during your stay. We stayed on the 7th floor in a suite and it was very comfortable- the bed itself and pillows were just right. Sheets felt high quality, pillows not too stiff and high, duvet was fluffy and nice. I liked that the toilet is separated from the shower and vanity- the soft but bright filtered lighting for the bathroom vanity was amazing for getting ready (for the girls who are sick of hotels with dark lighting and can’t do their make up). The room was spacious and although some aspects were a bit outdated, it was clean large and comfortable - we were so happy with our room. They also gave our group of 3 girls 4 room cards which allows for each card to breakfast. The breakfast ayis were so nice and made eggs freshly your way when asked. The cucumber and radish pickles were yummy and we really liked the corn soup and congee as well as all the vegetable dishes. The selection was good for us, as we like clean and simple, easy to digest and nutritious foods in the morning. Oh yeah they also sent us to the HSR on check out without charge, in the hotel’s car. They were so prompt in getting us to the HSR and the driver was really considerate, safe and careful. Literally the most calm drive we’ve experienced in China. Side note- the gym is massive and looks largely unused but the equipment is good, there are weights and cables and everything. There’s also a pool table and table tennis. A yoga room complete with a good amount of gear and mats.

Very strategic location running by two young, motivated and thoughtful gentlemen. It is outside from the ancient city. Just one street away (100m) from the Riverside in which is pretty good to keep us away from the loud singing at drinking pub along the Riverside and have good rest. The hotel and room very warmly decorated. The location mark at Trip.com a little misleading. Do remember to call up the hotel and they shall lead you the way better. Luckily we have the hotel staff helping us to book can from train station. The downside was there are too many stairs at the both ancient city and to the hotel. Fortunately, there is a lift co-sharing with another hotel to bring us up. Stairs are unavoidable since majority hotels and shops are built on the valley slope by Riverside. It is good to bring along walking cane for those with weak knee. I really love the bath tub and projector screen lol. 😂😍
