"Great service all round. Clean, spacious good quality rooms, good breakfast and service with a smile. Breakfast is included in the price and comes along with a complementary minibar with soft drinks and beer, including coffee and tea. Very comfortable beds. The only thing I missed in the room was an iron for a creased shirt (I didn't ask, but maybe they have one at reception). The dining area is spacious yet has a cosy feel. There is a terrace by the waterfront and although I didn't use them, there is a gym and sauna in the basement. Close to Emden centre, parking is free for guests (subject to availability) and there is disabled access throughout the hotel. Plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from within 10 minutes walk from the hotel The price seems quite high, but it is reasonable value for money, taking into account the high standard of service, and of course the complimentary breakfast, minibar and parking."

"Excellent hotel with amazing friendly staff and great restaurant! We spent several days in this hotel with my colleagues and all were more than satisfied with the service and local cuisine! It's about 10 to 15 min walk to the city center. Definitely would return back!"

Upstalsboom Parkhotel

"Some minutes walk from the center, which is not harmful. Equipment in general good, rooms and especially bathrooms should be a little lighter. The sustainable breakfast without packed portions convinces. The service in the room and breakfast could be a little more attentionful (note in detail when checking out, may be better than in the near future). We had included coffee/cake in the price. The cappuccino was good, the cake wasn't so, so we didn't take it on the second day. A couple at the neighbouring table loud him on that day. We had booked the room for the special price. That's all right."

Quartier96 - Boardinghouse Emden

"Excellent and very high quality conversion of old army barracks into quirky apartment hotel. Would have been 5/5 but for a major glitch when checking in. This may have been due to us booking less than 2 hours before arrival. It is a self check in and it took an out of phone calls before we got access. However, room was very comfortable and well equipped. Small kitchenette was ideal for our needs. Secure basement storage for bicycles."

"Due to lateness of incoming flight I didn’t arrive here until 9:30pm. First impressions were poor as when I parked my rental car I was torn between parking next to one of the abandoned cars, on the overgrown grass verges or next to the two residents sitting on plastic chairs enjoying a late evening spliff. After ringing the bell around half a dozen times an extremely irate and unkempt member of staff arrived at the front door to inform me that the check in closed at 20:30 (something I hadn’t been advised of beforehand). Following some robust discussion he recanted and let me check in. First chore on entering the sparsely furnished room was to despatch the massive black spider on the wall above the bed to spider heaven. A quick look around revealed no complimentary toiletries, no tea/coffee facilities an a single thin pillow which offered no support at all. The cheap furniture had seen better days and the place is desperate for a refurbishment. I was leaving at 06:30 and the disgruntled staff member had advised me that I couldn’t have breakfast as it didn’t start until 7 so I was somewhat surprised to see several people having breakfast as I left. One to avoid."
