Ella Country House

The room was clean, the bed was comfy and all-in-all we had such a nice stay at country house. You get a nice room, a delicious breakfast included, with a balcony and a pretty great view of Ella gap. You also get to meet the legend that is Thivagar, he is welcoming, smiley and is super useful. Make sure you get his WhatsApp. Some of the amenities - fan, tv, bath, we couldn’t get to work, but the aircon, lights, shower and electrics were all working perfectly. There is a little bit of traffic noise from the road below. But the bed’s so comfy you won’t notice. Highly recommend - would book again.

Wonderful stay in Ella Country House! Spent two nights in a very comfortable room with a balcony and views of the mountains. Start to the mornings were always spent with a delicious western / Sri Lankan breakfast that was more then enough to keep me going until lunch. The owners are lovely and very helpful with any questions or requests that I had. Location was perfect being so close by Ella town. Would definitely stay again; thank you so much for such a nice experience.

We came to Ella from Mirissa riding on the back of two mesmerizing stays and had similar expectations from Ella Country House, and we were not disappointed. Run by Gitanjali and her husband (could not gather his name) and an extremely sweet house help available throughout the day. The property is located a kilometer from the city centre and railway station and is adorned with various plants and trees which were extremely well tended to and enhanced the experience of staying amidst nature. We got a hill facing room with an amazing balcony for you to sit and even lie down, and a quaint room with a massive King Sized Bed. The furniture in the room were enough for a convenient stay and to access luggage without having to work hard for it. We booked our room with breakfast and they surprised us. Omelette, toasted breads,freshly cut fruits, fruit juice, a pot of Coffee. You can even ask for Egg Hoppers or other local breakfast items although they are subject to availability. As we had an early train to catch the owners even asked to pack breakfast for us to enjoy while going, a gesture we found sweet and homely. In good faith we were dropped to the railway station by the owner at 6 in the morning and wished well for our travels ahead.
