Every time I I have visited El Calafate 3 times and stayed 3 times in this place, a great location near the shopping street and near the lake (walking distance) a great breakfast served, a money exchange with good rates, a big room to hang out, small but good dorms, good hot showers, well worth its money.

We get what they advertized but a strong odor of feet was persistent in the room. We went elsewhere.

Good location. Comfortable room and bed. Breakfast was minimal: just bread items-needed to pay extra for anything more substantial.

Private room with private bath was a must for us. Calafate Hostel’s private rooms were clean, safe and affordable. Staff was super friendly and helpful! Will return!

This was our second stay at Calafate Hostel one week after our first visit. Staff is amazing. Super helpful! Included breakfast is simple with reasonably priced delicious ala carte items available. Kitchen staff super friendly.

Convenient location to walk to main streets or lake. Most staff helpful though incorrect information caused a problem with my airport transport. Breakfast was very ordinary.

The space felt a bit rough and unclean, but not the worst I’ve come across. Breakfast is only a couple not good pastries

we stayed in two different room, standard and delux, both in terrible shape: the bathroom with water leakage has the floor always wet, the sheets with stains of various nature, the lights only partially working. the breakfast isn't edible, I served better meals at the homeless shelter. this is a B tier hostel, avoid it.

If you want somewhere clean, don’t go here. A friend and I stayed in two different rooms on two different stays during our time at Calafate Hostel. I was motivated to book due to the value for such a highly-rated set of rooms. I’m writing this review so that you don’t make the same mistake. I don’t think either room knows what clean actually means. Neither floors had been brushed or surfaces wiped even for crumbs. We had a fridge in our rooms, both stank, had clearly been neglected by the cleaners between stays and one even had half-eaten food remaining from the previous occupiers. In one of our bathrooms, the ceiling had blue mould. In the second, the bathmat had started to turn yellow, presumably because it isn’t cleaned between stays. This was backed up by the loud squelch when you stand on it. The furnishings are fraying, broken or stained to the point you wouldn’t want to utilise them. To be fair I liked the heated floor tiles, but I wouldn’t dare place my bare feet on them. After seeing the cleanliness (or lack thereof) in the room, I decided against breakfast. From word of mouth, it was apparently difficult to find a clean glass for your morning orange juice. I feel glad I went to a cafe instead. When we were excited to leave, we found out that ‘there were no transfers’ that day. If I had to choose one thing I liked, it was that the TV worked. That’s it.
