This hotel is an old staple, emphasis on old. Pros: Common areas seem clean Cheap Food - Good enough breakfast and dinner buffets Staff seems nice King sized bed Cons: Our room was seriously rundown - carpet had stains and cigarette burns, pillows were horribly lumpy, vents caked with dust, yucky bathroom with mold in the shower and sink Pool - boring rectangle that looks onto a construction site. We now know that Eilat sand is quite rocky so a nice pool area is a must in the heat! 15 min walk to City Center (no on-site amenities other than crappy pool) Since it has been around so long, the Nova Like has a following. My father in law explained that many of the workers from the local construction projects come to this hotel with their families. Honestly, I can be very picky with hotels and it drives my husband crazy. This time even he made the call that we leave early! Per my husband - this would work for someone looking for cheap lodging who doesn’t plan to be there much and really doesn’t care what the room is like. To enjoy Eilat, stay in a nice resort and take advantage of no VAT tax
