The good points regarding our stay Premier Inn Edinburgh City Centre (Waverley): The staff were friendly. The mattresses (as expected from Premier Inn) very relaxing. The hotel's location is excellent since it is close to the train station, attractions, shops and restaurants. The bad points: -Misleading "room with view" online booking. -Towels (lack of and cleanliness). -No room telephone to reach reception. -No lock on door. -The fan in the bathroom not working. -Stuffy (VERY stuffy) room since windows do not open nor fresh air was coming in from any vent! For our stay at Premier Inn Edinburgh City Centre (Waverley) there was an option to request a room with a view. We did. There was no view. Please correct this on Premier Inn's booking site because it is misleading. Otherwise let customers know that there are no rooms available "with a view" during their stay. We booked a family room. There were two big bath towels BUT only one face towel. The towel sets (bath and face) should be matched to the number of people staying in the room. One bath AND one face towel for each person for hygienic reasons. (I've had this towel problem with other Premier Inn hotels as well unfortunately). Soooo, we requested an extra face towel at reception (btw there is NO telephone in the room to communicate with reception), and I was handed a folded face towel directly from some room near reception. Aaand THIS WAS A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT it was soiled or not thoroughly washed from previous use. We did not see it immediately when it was handed to us. We only saw it later in the room when we unfolded it. We did not complain to staff because how could we prove we had not soiled it? On another DISAPPOINTING note, I realize that for safety purposes the windows do not open. However there must be a way to manually refresh the air inside the room. It became VERY STUFFY, particularly after someone showered. To top it off, the fan was not working in the bathroom. Also, there was no lock on the door. What's that about? I've stayed at Premier Inn before in various cities in the UK. Unfortunately, year by year I see the quality of the rooms declining but not the prices. :-/
