It‘s very good palce to visit the Edi castle.

Superb place, friendly service (as in uniquely friendly), perfect location, super fair price, and such amazing cozy facilities not seen for a long long time with such a wonderful feel and atmosphere. Huge hall, cinema, internet-room, cozy-lounge and a ‘Groovy lounge’ (for playing music). Special happenings every night such as pubcrawl, beer bong tournament, quiz night and so much more… Their breakfast (£4) was basic but cheap and easy. Without doubt one of the best hostels I have ever been to - worldwide… And their free guided tour were so SO much better than the one we paid for downtown… Informative, down to earth, funny and honest - loved it…

Easily the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Everything felt homey, intimate and friendly, the amenities were excellent, truely the ideal social hostel experience. I broke my foot while I was here and the staff were so caring, compassionate and helpful — their kindness made what was an absolute nightmare much more tolerable. Stepping outside every day to see the castle on one side and the hub spire on the other immediately put me in a good mood. Don’t stay anywhere else in Edinburgh.

Great stay and excellent value for money. I stayed in an 8 bed female dorm and was lovely and clean. Was on a top bunk which was very comfortable. Other guests were very considerate and so hostel was really quiet at night and in the morning (though some outside noise but that can’t be helped in the middle of the city). Clean and quiet female bathroom. Friendly staff.

Castle Rock Hostel is a great hostel for the location and lounge spaces. It is right by Edinburgh Castle and on the Royal Mile and most things are walkable from the hostel. The bunks are comfortable, but you do share a bathroom with a lot of people as it's one communal bathroom per a floor. There are also no privacy curtains on the bunks, so it can be hard to sleep in the dormitories unless you're a really heavy sleeper. I really loved the complimentary tea and hot chocolate though as well as the cinema in the hostel! The laundry service was also affordable and convenient. The hostel also does a lot of weekly activities which are awesome!

Amazing location right next Edinburgh Castle. Very central. Lovely decor, high ceilings, helpful friendly staff. Free tea and coffee, booze allowed, pool table, board games. Breakfast was a bit limited but very cheap £4. 10 Discount in bars and eateries if you show your free orange pass. I stayed in the triple room which was clean and comfortable with a great view. Showers are a challenge but powerful and hot. Lots and lots of stairs!

A great hostel with comfy room and excellent facilities. Left my bicycle in a secure downstairs location. Only a few yards away from castle, so only a short walk after watching the Tattoo. Well recommended and ideal for all the Fringe entertainment.

I have absolutely no complaints about staying at Castle Rock Hostel! The location was exciting, safe, and unique, the interior was clean and quirky, and it was a very memorable experience! The only thing that I could maybe mention for improvement would be to have had some help with my luggage up the stairs.

A friend of mine recommended this hostel and also required a comprehensive review. Check in was simple with the help from lovely staff. Unfortunately, I didn't get the room that has the most stunning view of the castle. The view from my window in the room called Scottish Football is still gorgeous because it's Edinburgh! Overall, I would recommend this hostel :)
