The staff were very friendly and made our stay very enjoyable. The pool area with the steam and sauna rooms were clean. The rooms need updating but overall we had a pleasant experience.

A little upset that the bed was two singles pulled together but most everything else was good.
Receptionist was very helpful and kind.

An overnight stay for business, there was a conference on, the hotel was incredibly busy so not as slick as usual checking in and ordering room service after arriving late but this is understandable.

Hotel was in a great location for where we needed to be. Only used hotel to sleep and for breakfast. Breakfast wasn't the best, was warm and got cold quickly, however, overall enjoyed our stay. Stay clear of the trees when parking, our car was a mess on our return.

Firstly within 2 minutes of entering the room, we noticed there was feces all around the toilet that's clearly been there all day because it didn't move when we tried to flush, we told reception and they said someone will come and clean it ASAP (which they did to be fair and the cleaner was lovely) didn't get a sorry or any sympathy from the lady on reception however We booked two superior rooms and it's not what you want to be greeted too when you enter Other things we noticed were tons of marks on the walls and grime in the bathroom sink, the TV remote didn't work and the most uncomfortable pillows in existence Both rooms where supposed to be the same but there was a few discrepancies when comparing, we was missing a fridge, two bottles of water and biscuits that the other room got, we noticed there was only 1 coffee pod instead of 3 and there was a lack of tea/coffee packets There was grime in the bathroom sink, marks all over the walls, the TV remote didn't work and the handle on the window was half hanging off We went and got a drink in the sports bar and it had the most miserable bar staff ever, literally struggling to mutter some works together just grunts We tried to go for food in the restaurant but 3 different members of staff kept saying be with you in a minute and just kept ignoring us and chatting away so we went and got a uber to the hungry horse which was fantastic The staff were absolutely lovely at breakfast, very welcoming and happy to assist us and other guests with anything they needed If I could get a refund for one of the rooms I definitely would have because it was an absolute disgrace and genuinely the worst place I've ever stayed

Not the best I think my bed had bed bugs not a nice feeling… Not clean as you see from pictures we paid £334 a with breakfast. And going away with the feeling of not clean. So if want somewhere that looks nice and not clean this is the place. Look at my shower..

On arrival all looks good in reception but that's where it ends. The rest of the hotel basically needs to be refurbished, plain and simple. It's trapped in the 90's which is probably when it was last refitted. Seating in the bar area, floors, all past their best. My room was 127 - avoid. Right next to the laundry room and you can hear alarms from washing machines going off all the time, the cleaning staff and the metal trollies being dragged out by your window. The room itself could be nice but again so dreary and tired, the phone is from the 1980's very retro. The carpet stained everywhere, needs changing, TV old and small, bathroom had tiles coming loose and mould and rust. The food is terrible, looks nothing like the banners as you drive in. Breakfast was poor, the fruit looked like it had been kicked around the kitchen then sliced it was that bruised, poor selection and quality for hot plates. As a vegetarian I asked if I could have a couple of poached eggs and I'd do myself some toast, to be told no they are fried only and she walked off. A simple request that is always accepted in any other hotel I've ever visited but no requests here. Lunch menu expensive for what you get the hot tuna and cheese baguette was a sloppy gooey mess, next day the salad was drenched in sauce, mainly the heart of the lettuce and lots of croutons. Again poor. Staff were friendly enough but either overrun or out of their depth. Pool area The pool is small you won't be doing lengths, a third is taken up by steps getting in with a barrier I'm not joking. Jacuzzi looks to have been sealed up for years. Sauna was fine. I did ask for a pair of the spa slippers to us poolside, but I was abruptly told I wasn't having a treatment so no. Again I've never been refused at other hotels for a simple request. The girl on the desk needs to learn some customer service skills! Overall there are better places to stay than here, this is a fair and honest review with photos attached of the points mentioned.

First impressions as you go in is that the hotel is great and the reception staff were polite. Unfortunately there were so many things that let this hotel down (Note I am a Senior Facilities Manager): * Hoovering was not done overnight- the table we were sat (and a number of others) for breakfast had a real mess on the floor from the night before (including crumbs, lego bricks and crayons) * The tables (breakfast service) were not replenished to an expected standard (we had no spoons) and although the table had been cleared it had not been wiped down * As people left breakfast and also dinner service the tables were not cleared around us, instead the team of staff were all just stood at the front of the dining room talking * There was no disposal bowl for used tea bags or sugar wrappers at the tea and coffee station and only one milk available and this wasn’t labelled * No allergen signs were displayed at breakfast (legal requirement now) * Everything was not available (even though there were signs advertising items) such as scrambled egg * The Garlic bread we ordered with dinner came out more than half way through our meal and drinks took a long time from order to table * People were allowed to sit in the bar area to eat but again when people finished the tables were not cleared (at one point a full meal of dirty crockery was left from the night before until the morning) * Staff did not collect emptied or dirty/used crockery as they went past tables (which would make table clearances easier as people left) * No gluten free breakfast options * The tiles on the floor around the pool are heavily water marked they need a deep clean and every two hours a member of staff should use a flat mop to clear excess water from the floor (this will reduce the limescale build up on the tiles) * Hotel check out is 11am so why schedule an aerobics pool class at 9:30-10:15, as guests we wanted a swim before we left and were unable to due to a loud class completely filling the pool - the only time we knew about this was as when we went down to use the pool and there was a single (not obvious) sign outside the changing room door * We had afternoon tea - our waitress spilt the tea over our table and did not return to clear it up so it stayed wet the whole time, milk did not come out with the tea and our waitress didn’t return for 15 mins I then had to ask for milk as none was provided * Our afternoon tea platters were bought out and we were not told what anything was / no labelling was displayed * Carpets are threadbare through out the hallways / not hoovered regularly * Leaflets were not put back on the displays if they had fallen on the floor * There was a god awful smell from the cleaning equipment as you walk through the women’s changing rooms to the pool I will say the spa staff were lovely and the only thing I would suggest would be after a treatment they walk people to the relaxation room and advise them to hydrate but otherwise they were great. This was a 2-night stay with my son. It is about a 25 minute drive into Southampton from here, booked as we were visiting Southampton. Plenty of car parking, greeting by staff on entry was pleasant. I had booked a room with 2 single beds and on getting to room (132) the 2 single beds were pushed together, not enough space to seperate them. The room was a long walk from the reception. Ensuite for room was on the smaller size, the TV control in the room would not provide a guide to the channels. Kettle and drinks making were inside the TV cabinet, desk with chair to work at if required. Beds were comfortable and curtains blocked out all light from outside.

Last minute night away chose this hotel as not too far from us and was very good price of £76 including breakfast (I signed up to their free scheme and got money off). Through the privilege club you get discount, free breakfast and late checkout. Room was very good size with a massive king sized bed. Was offered an upgrade before arriving for another £22 to go deluxe but glad I didn't bother. Room was clean and fixtures were in good condition. Bathroom was small but adequate and was also very clean. Had a bath and it filled quickly. Bed was comfy but pillows far too soft for me (I can't stand feather). Room had air-conditioning but it was still very stuffy despite it being on 18 degrees. It was a shame the window had no covering or net as people could see in so had to keep curtains closed when getting dressed etc. We had dinner in the restaurant and found it was mixed bag. The starters were very good, my chicken liver pate was one of the best I've had. However, my burger was very disappointing especially for the price. It was undercooked and very bland and served with just chips, no coleslaw or side salad or a chutney. The chips were nice and crispy but a bit oily for me. I had higher expectations for the burger when it costs £19. My husband had the Cumberland sausage ring and was much better. Puddings were good, we had panacotta and sticky toffee pudding. Breakfast in the morning was a little strange, no hash browns and you had to ask for scrambled egg and black pudding. The scrambled egg was very good but black pudding was not cooked in middle and was cold and raw so had to send back. The potato cakes were delicious and unusual to see. No muesli or granola which was a shame but good selection of cereal and pastries and fruit. On the whole, was a very nice get away for a night at a good price. Would definitely come back again if I saw a good deal, but might eat dinner elsewhere nearby.

Four of us stayed for one night on 17/09/24. Hotel was fine in some ways (nice aspect, gardens etc) but lacked terribly in other aspects. Firstly there were insufficient disabled parking spaces near the entrance. There seemed to be a lack of staff to help with cases which required being lifted up and down stairs where rooms were not accessible by lifts ( we both have health issues). The bathroom looked nice but, was in severe need of a thorough cleaning. Breakfast was poor in terms of limited choice and variety. Definitely would not stay here again. It does not command the £180 per night price tag.

I visited the spa recently on a ‘perfect spa day’ package, including afternoon tea and can honestly say it is one of the worst spa experiences I have had. The changing rooms were dirty with broken items in them. The pool was small, dark, and cold, with uncomfortable sun lounges around the outside- we lasted for max 20 mins then head to leave. Then the afternoon tea was equally as bad, the sandwiches were tasteless, we even had one sandwich with no filling actually in it- just bread, and the mousse they served tasted gone off. Overall would definitely not recommend and think you get much better value for money going elsewhere.

Stayed here with my wife and daughter for a night while visiting Paulton’s down the road. We arrived around 5pm and were out by 9:30 the next morning. Room was decent, if a bit tired. The indoor pool was a plus; we had a good evening swim. Dinner menu in the Winchester restaurant was basic but the food was done well and the service was friendly. Breakfast buffet was very limited. Overall, the hotel did the job but our stay won’t live long in the memory

I keep returning to the spa at the Botley Park Hotel and it was lovely, Charley on Spa reception is always so helpful and knowledgeable, she is always making sure everyone is well looked after and treats customers exceptionally well and goes out of her way to look after us. My mum and I have been here a few times now and will continue to do so as we know that we will have a relaxing time and be treated well. I had a treatment with Alex, it was such a lovely massage, I felt so relaxed afterwards.
