This hotel has the best location in Upper Yubeng, as it is only a short walk away from the main village while the rest of the hotels in the village are built very closely together. The view from the room is amazing too, just as advertised, though the weather was not good while we came the view of the mountains and Lower Yubeng was still beautiful. Room comes with smart toilet, heated floors and heated blankets. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable about the area and very quick to respond to queries on WeChat, which we appreciated. There is a stove heater in the middle of the hotel where you can have a cup of ginger tea and watch the hotel cats walk about. We also ordered dinner at their in-house restaurant and we enjoyed the food too. The hotel also has a cafe with good coffee and a viewing deck both on the roof which we could see Baima mountain very clearly during the time we were there. Would recommend everyone to choose this hotel when coming to Upper Yubeng.

For this Yubeng hike, we specifically chose Shangyubeng Village, as we felt that the scenery would be better. Maozaiyubeng is located in the inner part of Shangyubeng Village. As other reviews have said, when you spend 8 hours hiking from Nicun Village to Shangyubeng Village, and then walk for nearly 10 minutes to find this homestay, it does seem a bit far. But when we stepped into the room and saw the 240-degree view of the snow-capped mountains, we felt that it was all worth it. It can be regarded as the best location in the entire Shangyubeng Village, facing the snow-capped mountains and Xiayubeng Village. The services of the homestay are really rich, including the supply package for check-in, fruits and bread will be delivered every day, and foot bathing liquid will be delivered. After a hard hike every day, you don’t need to find a place to soak your feet outside, you can soak them directly in the room. The homestay also provides breakfast and dinner, which need to be booked in advance. Their pickled cabbage tastes very good. Their hot water has to be heated separately. Sometimes the water is not hot when taking a shower. You need to check whether the water is hot before taking a shower and then take off your clothes. If it is not hot, you need to communicate with the front desk immediately so that they can switch the hot water system.
