The Datong Holiday Inn where we stayed this time was really nice! I saw on the Internet that it had just been open for two months, so I walked around after moving in. There is a cafe on the first floor, a buffet breakfast area on the second floor, banquets and meetings on the third floor, and Chinese dining rooms and a gym on the fifth floor. The facilities are extremely complete. The bedding is clean and comfortable, the view from the floor is also great, the sky in Datong is blue, and you can see the mountains in the distance from the window. The city is not big, and it is very convenient to travel by car, making it very suitable for business travel. The girl at the front desk was polite and enthusiastic, showing the hospitality of Datong people. I must recommend this hotel.

Had a very pleasant stay for two nights. The hotel lives up to it reputation. I have stayed at the same hotel in Europe in the past, and it continues to maintain its star quality in terms of courtesy, cleanliness, amenities, and response time should you make a special request. A minibar in every room in the future would be nice. The location is great, as some of the attractions are within 5 kilometers. However, not many dining options within walking distance.

Well, this is a newly opened B&B. Overall, the cleanliness, facilities, and service are excellent. While the rooms are small, the bathrooms and showers are quite comfortable. The pillows and bedding are particularly impressive. The friendly and attentive service from the beautiful hostess makes it feel warm and homey. As for the hotel's location, I give it a perfect score. It's located near the south gate (Yongtai Gate) of the ancient city wall (see the map below). It's a 10-minute walk from Shanhua Temple. The Nine Dragon Screen, the Confucian Temple, and the Drum Tower are also all around 10 minutes away, just in different directions. This means the hotel is centrally located to major attractions. Huayan Temple is a bit far, and a taxi ride costs about 7-8 yuan. Overall, getting around is very convenient, depending on your stamina. Those with more energy can walk in about 20 minutes. A taxi ride from the high-speed rail and Datong Museum is about 15 yuan. I recommend coming to the hotel from the high-speed rail, visiting the museum first, and then returning to the hotel. Cool Hotel, with everything needed for a relaxed stay. The location is perfect for reaching the old town and very close to the location where tours depart. I didn’t use the AC as it was not that hot these days, just kept the window open and was really relaxing. The self laundering service is good, but might me full on peak hours. Front desk allowed for a smooth check in, I speak Chinese so I cannot assess the English level.

The price is super cost-effective, less than 400 including breakfast for two. The overall hardware facilities are not advanced enough, but the service is quite good overall. There are many staff at the front desk, and the reception is also very considerate. There is even a night bed service, and Tremella soup and mineral water are provided in a timely and enthusiastic manner. I would like to praise Zhang Qingyu from the housekeeping department. The breakfast is indeed as rich as described in the reviews, especially the knife-cut noodles taste good, and you can also blanch vegetables, have Mongolian milk tea to drink, and the mutton steamed buns taste good!

I have always had a good impression of Lavande, and this time Lavande in Datong is also satisfactory. The bed was very comfortable and the environment was nice. There is parking lot. Because I drove there, it was very convenient to go anywhere.

I haven't been back to Datong for many years. I heard that a Hilton hotel has just opened in Datong. I booked a room (a smart king-size bed room) on the first night of my arrival. When I entered the hotel, the front desk lady was very enthusiastic and checked in smoothly. I was very lucky to be assigned to room 808 (because Sister Jingying has a song called Telepathy 808). I really like the orange-like aromatherapy smell in the corridor. When I entered the room, it was basically smart in the whole house, with the TV turned on and the curtains opened. There is also a coffee machine (the kind that puts coffee capsules in to make coffee), a microwave and tableware in the room. Is this for me to come here to cook? I slept very well at night. Although I went to bed late and only slept for seven hours, I was not familiar with sleep therapy at all. I usually sleep for 8 hours. It may be because the mattress and pillow are too comfortable. On the second day, I watched the video and found that the sofa in the room can be unfolded. I tried it. My God, it is completely a bed when unfolded. Then this room can sleep 3-4 people. I went to have breakfast at 9 o'clock (it opened at 7 o'clock, but I couldn't get up). There were many dishes, including vegetables, meat, and local eggs. The staple foods were sliced ​​noodles, mutton offal (Datong specialty) and fried rice, as well as snacks and fruits. The oatmeal porridge and soy milk there were delicious, and you could add small ingredients to them, including nuts. I also went to the hotel's fitness area, which is my habit. I would definitely go there whenever there is one. Although there are not many equipments, they are enough. You can do aerobics and chest and back exercises, and there is free water. No one used them, so I did several sets of back exercises myself. Opposite the gym is a self-service washing machine. When I checked out at noon, I noticed that there was an area in the lobby with self-service coffee and tea, and there were quite a lot of varieties to order. There were also two office computers and printers, which were very practical for office workers on business trips. You don't have to look for printers everywhere, and there is also a wireless charging area, which I also have in my room. In short, it was quite a surprise. The hotel is very attentive. I hope there will be lunch and dinner in the future hahahaha.

It takes 5-6 hours to take the high-speed train from Datong to Zhengzhou, so I decided to leave by plane with my classmates. My husband stayed one more night so that he could go to the Coal Mine Park to experience and learn about the Datong mining area.
