"Dear [Hotel Management Team], I would like to share my experience during my recent stay at your hotel, as it fell significantly short of expectations. Room Issues: My initial room was located near the smoking area, resulting in noise and smoke disturbances. While I requested a room change, I was informed of an additional charge of $100++ per night, which was unexpected. Breakfast Miscommunication: I was unaware that my room rate did not include breakfast. However, the handling of this matter by your Coffee House staff was deeply disappointing. Their approach was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional, making me feel unwelcome due to their demeanor. Overall Experience: The combination of these issues—particularly the staff’s conduct—left me feeling offended and undervalued as a guest. Unfortunately, this experience has led me to reconsider future stays at your property. I hope this feedback serves as constructive input for improving guest experiences. "The hotel staff were friendly, and the facilities matched the pictures on the website. Because it wasn't right next to a main street, it was very quiet at night. I didn't see any large restaurants nearby. Just as dawn was breaking, I heard the crisp clatter of horses' hooves passing by downstairs. There are horse-drawn carriages here, usually small ones pulled by a single horse for people or goods. Later, I also saw a small carriage pulled side-by-side by four horses of different sizes and heights. Because the horses' different gaits make it really difficult to drive! Turning right from the hotel entrance, there's a beautiful residential area nestled among the vegetation, with clean new cars parked in front. There are also some unfinished buildings and construction debris nearby, but overall it's quite nice. The foreign exchange shops marked on Google Maps nearby are all incorrect; you must ask locals, even though the exchange rate isn't great, it's better than nothing."

"I was skeptical at first after reading the bad reviews/comments. But this hotel surprised me! I stayed on the 3rd floor, in one of the renovated rooms. Shower was great, (after i figured out how to close the door!). Toilets are equipped with a bidet, hairdryer, iron and toiletries available (shower gel, shampoo, lotion - not the greatest quality though). Though there is a language barrier, the staff are friendly, and super helpful. Few minor issues: (1) Intermittent wifi connectivity on the 3rd floor (consider purchasing an esim, I purchased from Airalo). (2) ATM did not work for a few days. (3) traffic is a nightmare. Regarding the traffic (seems like a general dakar issue), Blaise Diagne International Airport, is about 60km away, however the trip to the hotel took 2+ hours. Plan activities and travel with this in mind! "

"I recently returned to Yaas Almadies Hotel for what feels like my umpteenth stay since I first discovered this gem in 2018. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed the hotel’s warm ambiance and welcoming staff, but this time I found myself a bit disappointed. While I still love the location and the overall vibe, it’s hard to ignore that the hotel is showing its age. The rooms, which once felt fresh and inviting, now seem to be in need of some serious maintenance. The furnishings are starting to look worn, and small issues—like peeling paint and outdated fixtures—seem to be accumulating. It’s clear that the hotel could benefit from a renovation to bring it back to its former glory. However, what truly stands out and makes my visits worthwhile is the incredible staff. They are consistently friendly, attentive, and genuinely care about the guests’ experiences. Their dedication and hospitality continue to shine through, making up for some of the hotel’s shortcomings. In light of my recent experience, I hope the management takes note of the need for upgrades and repairs. I’ll certainly be back, but I’d love to see the Yaas Almadies Hotel return to the pristine condition I remember. Here’s hoping for some much-needed TLC!"

"This is the worst value-for-money hotel I've ever stayed in, priced at 2500 yuan, excluding breakfast. The facilities are probably only worth 1000 yuan, and the service was slow and unsatisfactory. The hotel restaurant was laughable; I sat down at 6 pm and 40 minutes had passed without food arriving, and my drinks weren't brought either. The room was bare, large but impractical; for a hotel in this price range, toothpaste, toothbrush, and slippers had to be delivered by phone. Dakar is very humid, and the air conditioning wasn't constantly running to dehumidify. There was a strange smell in the hallway. The room smelled slightly less, but you could still smell it when you first entered. I'd give it 1-2 stars at most. If it were 800 or 900 yuan, I might be okay. This price is incredibly disappointing. No wonder it was removed from the R. Addison Blu and renamed Noom. Oh, and there was a bottle of cockroach bait on the table in the room."

"I can’t say enough positive things about our stay at Jade Villa. Although the location is off the beaten road, Jade Villa is a Bed & Breakfast style accommodation a short walking distance from the beach, plenty of shopping, Casino, clubs, etc. The staff is professional, friendly, and someone is available 24hrs. They offer an amazing breakfast at the sparkling pool and affordable selections for lunch and dinner. The rooms are comfy and offer warm showers, great Wi-Fi, refrigerators, and plenty of natural light."
