I spent 3 nights here , a nice hotel , relaxing , quiet and excellent breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Good strong WIFI signal. Fantastic swimming pool. Probably the best hotel I stayed in whist in Senegal. Comfortable room , great bed . Room clean and tidy , nice balcony overlooking the pool.

The room in first floor in front of the garden was full of insects everywhere even on the bed. The service was very bad, they ignored my complaint leaving me without Internet access at my room for 12 hours, however I checked with the reception 5 times. I don't recommend it for anyone.

I loved this hotel, especially the staff who were incredibly helpful and friendly. It's got a huge pool where I swam laps every day. The grounds were lovely and well taken care of. It's quiet, right on the ocean and removed from the busy downtown. The room was comfortable, the AC & internet worked well, and the breakfast was plentiful. Yes, it may be somewhat antiquated, but it felt more authentic than the typical modern hotel that could be in any city.

Superb Olympic size(?) pool., with attendant and scrubby towels. Set in gardens overlooking the sea (and the ugly LPG tanker/power station moored between Dakar and Goree) Hundreds of kites soaring at dusk. Two nights at start of tour, one night at the end, Rooms differed. Ground floor room, ,hole in the mosquito mesh, broken hairdryer, cracks in plaster, lighting dim . First floor room ,all worked, not dim, a little larger. Clean bedding, comfortable beds. WiFi worked in rooms. Breakfast :Bean to cup coffee machine, dates(one day only) salad ,real cheese, ubiquitous French style pastries, bread and (L'horreur!) La vache qui rit cheese triangle and chocolate spread!! They also served omelettes on request. Fresh juices baobab / bisap (hibiscus) Restaurant ,reasonable selection of food but as I only eat small amounts they were quite happy to serve "starters" with additional vegetables instead of a full plate. Bar area between restaurant and pool, serves alcohol and will, if you ask ,serve FRESH juices not on menu, ginger , lemon , baobab or bisap Seemingly the hotel has been extended ,BUT one whole section is but a shell, with room doors and windows but nothing else. Staff helpful, some speak English but not all. Location: walk out to the left and follow up to a dingy lighthouse and run down area. Out to the right, walk past upmarket apartments and cliff side clubs along to the commercial port area. Neither direction offers any eatery ,so unless you veer off left towards town on the way to the port ,the hotel facilities are it.

Enjoyed this hotel very much. On the coastline, with great views on the ocean and the isle of Goree. Food was succulent. The only poblem was the internet. It simply was not good enough for people with a professional agenda.

I stayed here for 1 night at the beginning of a group tour of Senegal and for another night at the end of the tour. Rooms are in ugly concrete blocks. Both rooms were old and dirty. The shower pressure was low and there were difficulties in getting the showers to even work. Bed was probably one of the few things that actually looked clean. Safe didn’t work, phone didn’t work. AC did work. This hotel drastically needs money spent on it as it doesn’t seem to have been updated since the day it was built. There are 2 restaurants both with lovely views. Food was very average and the included breakfast was just ok. The swimming pool is 50 metres long and really is the best thing about the hotel along with its position on the sea. The garden area has some nice vegetation and lots of birds, although I did see some rubbish and old stuff was left in the garden by the hotel staff. A walk into Independence Square takes about 30 minutes. There is nothing near to this hotel so it feels a bit isolated. The WiFi was generally working quite well. With the location and the beautiful pool this hotel could be excellent. However, I was very glad to leave the old and dirty rooms for another hotel.

The worst experience!!! Don’t go here. I love had traveling all over the world. I just finished speaking with reception who In the most condescending manner. On my first day they couldn’t find my reservation and put me in a room that I woke up in 2am with bugs all over my bed floor EVERYWHERE! I had bites on my face and body. Including very big cockroaches. They couldn’t even manage to give me that evening as an apology not even a very apology that day. Then after the third room. I’ll add more later with pictures and comments on that. The manager was very nice then only to offer two meals $15 or so. They couldn’t even offer a free shuttle to airport. Which would have made it better instead the receptionist was rude ignoring me while I stood in front of him. Pictures and video coming.

Very dirty hotel, infested with cockroaches to be avoided absolutely. Run away!! The service at the reception is disappointing, the breakfast is extremely poor, and the wifi works poorly, or not at all when I arrived. Frankly, this establishment does not deserve its price, nor its stars, it is not even worth one! With cockroaches in the room, we do not even dare to imagine the state of the kitchens. To be avoided without hesitation. The only positive point, if I had to mention one, would be the cleaning staff, who remain friendly. But even taking a shower is complicated: the shower head is in such a state that I prefer not to wash my hair. I do not understand how this hotel can still be open and display these prices. It is literally a trash hotel!

Dated, not maintained...bathrooms old and not too clean. Padded duvet for a temperature of 25 degrees! Only one bath towel (not very clean), for 2 people. First hotel, after 1 week, equipped with a hairdryer. The Olympic swimming pool is beautiful. Beach with sea full of cargoes, waiting to enter/exit the port of Dakar.

I rented the Hotel JARDIN SAVANA for 3 nights at a reasonable price for Dakar when booking via the Internet. Hotel The single-storey building is older, quiet and without traffic noise, located in a large, park-like garden directly by the sea, but with many stairs due to the hillside location. Very helpful receptionist. Taxis in front of the hotel. Room My room (321), NR, double room as a single room, was functionally furnished. Furniture already shows signs of wear, but clean. Good mattress in the king-size bed, enough storage space for a short vacation, safe, minibar, seating area, desk, TV (not used), telephone (broken), enough sockets and light sources, blackout windows, AC, WiFi free - even outside - but not always stable. 1 bottle water/daily. Unfortunately the carpet is completely dirty. It should be replaced urgently, ideally with tiles. Furnished balcony with pool and sea views. Bathroom Bath tub (with very high entry) with rain shower, low water pressure, well-lit bathroom/toilet, personal care items, etc. Daily cleaning and linen change. Attentive room boy. Breakfast for Senegalese. Conditions extensive, but far from continental breakfast, very cake-heavy, fresh fruit, small. Selection of sausage and cheese, unfortunately only boiled eggs, no scrambled eggs or other variations, tea, coffee machine, milk, juices, water. I personally missed yogurt. Unlike the other areas of the hotel, the service here is very musty and disinterested. Pool Large pool with small defects (tiles missing), loungers, parasols and towels free of charge. The pool is also available to external visitors, e.g. for water aerobics, swimming lessons, etc. or simply as a fun pool. There are bottlenecks: no free loungers/no towels. In my opinion, it is worrying in terms of hygiene that so-called pampas babies are also taken into the pool. Pool bar Good cocktails etc, menu options, very attentive and friendly service (Planters Punch highly recommended) Restaurant Open air restaurant - located right by the sea, unfortunately very poorly attended. Sufficiently large menu, implementation ok, you shouldn't expect taste explosions. Great prawns, grilled lobster black. I noticed the attentive staff, especially Almany and the chef. Beach There is a private beach, but I avoided it as much as possible. Conclusion price/performance ratio is right. I felt comfortable.

I write this review with some disappointment following my stay at the Hôtel Jardin Savana Dakar. Certainly, the hotel is large and is in a strategic location near the coast, but the need to take a taxi to Independence Square, unless you walk for around twenty minutes, is an inconvenience. The hotel appears to have once been a luxury venue, but it is evident that no renovation or restoration efforts have been made in many years. The furniture is old, rusty and many are broken. The worst part was the carpet: so old, discolored and dirty that walking barefoot was inconceivable. The breakfast was the poorest I have ever seen. I've stayed in hostels for 30€/night which offered a much more decent buffet. How is this even possible? The only good thing about this hotel is the Olympic swimming pool and tennis court. However, these two strengths do not compensate for the many flaws. This hotel is not worth it. The photos on TripAdvisor and Booking were misleading. I will never choose this hotel again on my future visits to Dakar.

Horrible experience. Dismal hotel, unsanitary, presence of palm rat. Deserves a major renovation. They should change staff too, the lady at the reception is very rude. She called me rude, clearly told me that she doesn't have time to resolve my problem when it's her job and hung up on me
