The Olive Motel

My wife and I stayed at the Olive Motel for two days during a two week hiking tour of New Zealand's North Island while we explored the beautiful tracks around Coromandel. We found the room immaculately clean, nicely decorated, and very spacious. Having a second room area gave us additional living options. The small kitchen area was thoughtfully provided with everything needed to prepare simple meals. The location was excellent too. The hotel was just off the main road and quiet, yet within easy walking distance to town. The hotel owner David was extremely helpful and nice. My wife had taken a bad fall earlier in the day, and the local pharmacy had just closed by the time we arrived. David saved the day by providing us with directions to medical care and a well stocked first aid kit to get us through the night. The Olive Motel also had a convenient and easy to use washer/dryer which helps on extended trips like ours. My only suggestion to Dave would be to add a few more towel racks and hanging hooks in the bathroom area to hang toiletry kits and used towels. Our stay at the Olive Motel was outstanding, especially considering the circumstances of our arrival.

Everything was excellent. The best motel we have stayed in in New Zealand. The owner was friendly and very hospitable. The rooms were large and very clean. The bathroom was huge for a motel. There was everything you needed. Easy walking to the town centre. More channels then we had ever seen in a motel. Exceptional all round.

Everything you want for a short layover in Corromandel. Clean, everything works and the beds are comfortable. The location is within walking distance of the town centre and you can stand in the middle of the road for quite a long time before you are in danger of being run over!

A beautiful room. Quality fittings throughout. Everything you need. Kitchen was great. Bathroom lovely comfortable beds and a warm room without putting any heating on. I loved that Owner very helpful and laundry facilities are great only $2 per load each for dryer and machine. Close to town within walking distance.

Very clean, well-located accommodation. Don't let the slightly abrupt email you may be sent the day of your booking turn you off. The email sets out expectations for the hours the office operates. I was expecting a scary reception, but he was so friendly and helpful. Everything was excellent. We will stay again.

We stayed in the one bedroom spa unit. Super spacious unit. Everything is beautifully clean. We loved relaxing in the double spa bath. Lovely quiet location. Friendly host.Easy walk to township. Highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back.
