"I had dreamed of staying here and having a meal or two for years and it finally came true. I was able to book a package that included dinner and breakfast with an overnight stay. It is an experience and it is meant to be a break--nothing is in a hurry. We were actually greeted in the parking lot by a family member who had just driven up and carried a bag for us to the house. Incredibly kind. It's such a sweet place and it is old world and relaxing. Voya bath products, a fabulous shower, turn down service. Really lovely. Dinner was amazing and our server was INCREDIBLE and KIND! Breakfast was the lovely as well. I think my only disappointment was that check in/out felt a little transactional, which didn't match the rest of the service. They weren't unkind, they just weren't more than ok. As we dragged our two bags up the stairs I was admonished "why didn't you call me?" . I told her than frankly I didn't know that I could or should. I would do it again and I would stay two nights so that I really had time to explore the property."

The furniture in my room is need of a refurb and the location of my room meant I was awake early with loud gym music. Apart from that the hotel has a great atmosphere, the food is really good and the staff are super, especially Carole in the breakfast room who cannot be faulted."

"I always enjoy my stays at the Talbot. It really is a lovely hotel. The rooms are big and spacious, as are the bathrooms. The staff are friendly and professional. "There's no air conditioning, but you don't really need it. Even in the sweltering summer nights, with the windows open at 10-15 degrees Celsius, you still need a blanket. And again, there are no mosquitoes here... The area is in the industrial zone in the east of the city, but you can't really see any industry. Little Island is full of ads for houses; it seems the industrial zone is being transformed into a residential area. They're still making money selling houses, huh? (mysterious smile). If you rent a car, it's very convenient to drive to Mahon Shopping Center, the largest shopping center in the area, in about ten minutes. If you don't rent a car... what are you planning to do in this crappy place without one?"

"It was a wonderful Victorian-style hotel. The hotel was remodeled from a former hospital building, and it has luxurious spaces. The rooms were clean and spacious, of course. The bathrooms were also of a high standard. It was impressive that they eliminated the bathtub to save water consumption in order to maintain the sustainability that the hotel aims for. "The room was actually quite nice, but the bathroom was outside the room, even though it was private. The main thing I felt was the owner was rather cold and distant. When I asked about highway tolls, she flatly said she didn't know anything about them. That's fine, after all, not helping is part of the job. I was walking in the hotel courtyard when she drove. I saw her approaching and quickly dodged to the side, hiding in the bushes by the road. She then sped towards me, feeling incredibly hostile. I couldn't quite put my finger on what was going on. Overt hostility was rare during my time in the British Isles, but this owner was the only time I felt that way. Perhaps even the only time."
