"I had stayed and dined at the hotel on occasion in the 1970's and 2000s; at that time, it was excellent in every respect. Myrtle held court in the sitting room, the food was sublime, and the rooms were excellent. My most recent visit was a bitter disappointment. The house is still wonderful, but the bedroom was located below stairs, and although well-decorated, it suffered from noise from the dining/reception areas above. The food was served in what resembled corridors off the dining room. A victim of its own success, resulting in cramming guests and diners into unsuitable spaces. Led to us having less than 8 hours of sleep."

"I always enjoy my stays at the Talbot. It really is a lovely hotel. The rooms are big and spacious, as are the bathrooms. The staff are friendly and professional. My only complaint is the breakfast which I don't bother with anymore. It's very subpar considering the price the hotel charges for a room. Apart from that, I love the place."

"There's no air conditioning, but you don't really need it. Even in the sweltering summer nights, with the windows open at 10-15 degrees Celsius, you still need a blanket. And again, there are no mosquitoes here... The area is in the industrial zone in the east of the city, but you can't really see any industry. Little Island is full of ads for houses; it seems the industrial zone is being transformed into a residential area. They're still making money selling houses, huh? (mysterious smile). If you rent a car, it's very convenient to drive to Mahon Shopping Center, the largest shopping center in the area, in about ten minutes. If you don't rent a car... what are you planning to do in this crappy place without one?"

"It was a wonderful Victorian-style hotel. The hotel was remodeled from a former hospital building, and it has luxurious spaces. The rooms were clean and spacious, of course. The bathrooms were also of a high standard. It was impressive that they eliminated the bathtub to save water consumption in order to maintain the sustainability that the hotel aims for. I hope it will continue to develop as a good accommodation."

"The room was actually quite nice, but the bathroom was outside the room, even though it was private. The main thing I felt was the owner was rather cold and distant. When I asked about highway tolls, she flatly said she didn't know anything about them. That's fine, after all, not helping is part of the job. I was walking in the hotel courtyard when she drove. I saw her approaching and quickly dodged to the side, hiding in the bushes by the road. She then sped towards me, feeling incredibly hostile. I couldn't quite put my finger on what was going on. Overt hostility was rare during my time in the British Isles, but this owner was the only time I felt that way. Perhaps even the only time."
