Such a fantastic hotel! Just got back from a week here with my husband and two teens and can find very little to fault at all. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. We were on 6th floor with pool/garden/sea views. Could be a little more sound proofed as you could hear the entertainment from inside the room and corridors could be a little loud when people were walking past but this didn’t disturb us too much. Pool is not huge but liked that it was split into two sections and inflatables could only be used down the one end. Meant you could swim in peace without worrying about being hit by a ball or dodging lilos etc! Pool area was kept really clean and always plenty of sun beds. Our kids tended to like the ones in the shade but we liked the sun terrace above the entertainment area as a proper sun trap! Pool towels are complimentary. Food and drink options were good with plenty of variety. We also went to both the Asian and Spanish restaurants that have to be booked in advance and both were really good. The hotel is in a good location, about a 15 minute walk to the beach (there’s also a free shuttle bus) and a short walk to plenty of other bars, restaurants etc if you do want a change of scenery. We also went to the Neon Party which is free of charge to go and was really good fun. The staff all work so hard and can’t do enough for you. I can’t recommend this hotel enough.

Highly recommend this hotel in Gran Canaria - currently on holiday with my partner and 1 year old boy. It's worth spending that little bit more £ to come to the Riu hotel as our experience has really been brilliant. Firstly - the staff are fantastic - so so friendly and welcoming, always making our little one smile! The food is great, always enough choice for me and my little one too (I am vegetarian and have had many things such as risotto, cannelloni, lovely pizzas, quiche). And the Asian restaurant on site is fabulous! Pool is perfect, thought beds do get busy - to be expected. One critique would be you can only get one standard size of beer (small) and cocktails tend to be weak / as is the wine. Cocktails and spirit drinks tend to be stronger only on the evenings - which are perfect! Gym could be improved - machines a little outdated and no free weights for my partner. We would recommend walking 20 minutes to the smaller beach Playa El Veril - nicer than Playa del Inglés from what we have seen. Overall really happy and kudos to the amazing staff!

It goes with everything that has been said below. You cannot fault the RIU hotel brand. You know exactly what you are getting, great food and drink, great rooms, very clean, great staff and entertainment. Came here with my two teenage daughters and they loved it. Please go to the RIU party (neon or white) on a Friday night. Sign up when you arrive as the places go quickly. The hotel will bus you 10 minutes down the road to the RIU Gran Canaria for a great night of free drinks, dancers, people on stilts, a great DJ, singers, balloons and so much more, the best night we had. Two buses on the way back around 11:30 ish. This party is open to ALL the family. The hotel entertainment staff are excellent and work so hard, some of the best shows we had were performed by them. Recommend this hotel and the RIU brand!

We were at Riu Papayas for 17 nights. It was our fourth visit. As always we had a great time and enjoyed the perfect service. We will certainly come back next year!

What an excellent hotel ! Don’t know where to start . Reception excellent on arrival and friendly. Our cleaners did a fantastic job and so lovely . Bar staff were a good laugh and very professional. Oh and the 24hr all inclusive helped ! lol . Me n r chez were really impressed by our room and the food was excellent . Always something to eat . Especially the spam !! Tried both specialty restaurants but my fave was the Asian one . The animation were brilliant and also very friendly. We had a few issues with certain nations being flipping arrogant. ! Chill out n sort yasens out. The staff and fellow holiday makers are human and have feelings ! (Little rant over). We had a little walk around the resort and we thought it was a little run down in places but that’s nothing to do with the excellent hotel . We met some lovely people on our holiday . My lovely team mates Edna n Sandra . Oh and our partners in crime the Geordies! And by the way I have never played it before ! …The white party is a great experience, very professional and a good laugh ! Cheers Papayas . Would Defo return !

When we arrived at the hotel, the reception staff were very helpful, we had the 7th floor, our room was over looking the neighbouring hotel, the room was spotless, with a huge thankyou to our maid, who worked extremely hard every day, The resturant food was very plentiful and excellent quality, so much to choose from and very fresh and hot, again the staff there were very pleasant, We didnt have any issues finding a sunbed every day, either in the sun or shade, We went to the asian resturant, which you do have to book, at the reception, we highly recommend it, again plenty of choice, The entertainment was ok every night, but the acrobat show was brilliant, Easy to get around, shuttle bus goes to the beach, lots of shops to choose from, including the yumbo centre. Overall we had a really good time, whilst we were there, and definately will return next year. Thankyou rui papayas.

We booked a 2 bedroom family room. Got room # 709 on the top floor away from lifts as our request in advance. Nice pool view from hotel next door with super loud music from entertainment / activities during 12.00-22.30 everyday. I reckon you ask for high floor on inner garden side near Dunas Lounge Bar. A lot quieter. Our room and hotel public areas were nice and tidy. Everything in the room worked well but shower temperature was unstable. Could be boiling hot and freezing cold in a few second whole time I was in a shower. Burnt my back quite a few times. Hard to wash my long hair. Food at the main restaurant and Asian restaurant were incredibly lovely. We never had a bad meal. Some dishes were a little salty but not a big deal for us. Pepe' snack bar was fine. We loved self service drink station at all Riu. Great to have non smoking area at 24 Pool Bar and Dunas Lounge Bar tho. All staff were hard working and polite. Shout out to Daniel (pool bar), Mecedez (F&B main restaurant) and Guan (Asian restaurant). They were absolutely efficient and attentive. Guan even recognised me when I was outside the restaurant. She was so friendly and smiley. Hotel management should be noticed. Thumps up to all H/K, Gardeners and maintenance team. You guys make the hotel looks great 🥰 FYI: Free daily shuttle to beach 9.30-16.30

Really enjoyed the stay here. Lovely modern hotel with friendly greeting at reception. Room on 4th floor facing outwards. Nice room with double bed and sofa with small fridge in room. Plenty of sun beds around pool and never had a problem finding one even when busy. One of the best experiences in the hotel is the food. Large buffet restaurant which offered a very large choice of food. All fresh and tasty and plenty of it. Speciality restaurants Asian and Spanish, loved them both although felt we were a little rushed in Ole. Both need to be booked at reception or on the Riu App. Staff throughout were nice and helpful which always makes for a pleasant stay. Big shout out to Quan who you will see in the restaurants 👍. Quite an easy walk to the beach or catch the hotel shuttle. There is a bus stop to the left of hotel entrance and worth a short trip €3.20 return to Maspalomas. Or taxi to lovely Puerto Morgan. All in all a lovely hotel to visit.
