Travelodge by Wyndham Downtown Chicago

While the location is great for viewing attractions nearby, the service itself left much to be desired. Upon arrival we had to wait to check in because their system was down, once able to check in the desk clerk didn't even pay attention to the fact that the room had been prepaid resulting in a double charge to my credit card. When addressing the problem the morning desk clerk wanted to reverse the Trip.com charge and leave the secondary (then pending charge which was higher). Rooms are small, windows dirty and hard to see out which totally ruins the amazing view the hotel does have of the downtown area. Curtains are thick, which is fine, until you realize they are literally bolted to the handle which is flimsy and questionable. Cleanliness is "ok", as you look around the room you will understand that the maids have done their best with what they have to work with; cigarette burns in the carpet, not well maintained bathroom and fixtures throughout the room, the beds were well made and clean however, hence why I say the maid staff did the best with what they have to work with.

They were very friendly and efficient.

The lobby area looked great, but once you get past that it’s very dated. I can only describe it as a feeling of stepping into your grandmas house, with outdated carpets, old smells and the rooms in General could do with a revamp. Bathtub in the room is a good addition however you can’t use it as it doesn’t come with a stopper.

The location is fantastic. The hotel is pretty naff. Small room, small bed tiny shower. Views of the back of other buildings. And the car park was $54 for 24 hours. Not impressed. But did get a great price

This place was a Dive, I walk in and walked back out. I lost $112.00, Never again. It would be great if I could get my $ back!

Good location, but rooms have an better days, decent reception

Nice place, easy to locate, and very close to various parking spaces. While the place is not very new, my main concern was how loud it was during the night. Train going by, neighborhood arguing, car driving, etc. It was difficult to catch a sleep.

Front desk staff were friendly and efficient. Excellent location, near to Millennium Park and the railways. Room was outdated as expected from the reviews, but it was clean and comfortable enough to sleep.
