The first time I went to Champasak. I have chosen to stay at Residence Bassac very impressive, good atmosphere, beautiful view close to Mekong River,nice service,clean room ,near wonderful tourist attractions like Wat Phou Champasak.I fall in love and recommend whoever visit Champasak Ressidence Bassac is the best hotel in Champasak.

I had an amazing experience staying at the Residence Bassac. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure all my needs were met. The rooms were clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and modern amenities. The location in Bassac was perfect, offering beautiful views and easy access to nearby attractions. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a wonderful and relaxing stay.

My family stayed and had a most wonderful experience. Rooms were very spacious and well appointed, great price, staff friendly and very professional and food was amazing. Great place to base yourself in the area to check out the surrounding UNESCO world heritage locations. Watching the sunrise over the Mekong was a true delight.

We had a fabulous stay at Residence Bassac. We loved everything about this hotel. The rooms, gardens, dining and lounge areas were perfect. It is situated in a beautiful setting where you can gently watch the local life passing by. The service and staff were exceptional. Everything was done with a smile. My husband left a pair of trousers behind and they arranged for them to be sent onwards, by plane, to our next destination. Now that is first class service. I cannot recommend this hotel more highly. You will not be disappointed.

Beautifully restored old buildings with lovely rooms, really comfy beds and in a great location. The restaurant is excellent as well, the breakfast delicious. Probably the classiest little place to stay in Champasak!

I stayed here with my partner for 2 nights. The hotel is finished to a high standard with a lot of modern yet authentic touches. A couple of points to note: - we stayed at the hotel for 2 nights on 28th but during our stay the general manager was not available, he / she was in Vientiane. The staff are helpful but their English is not at a high standard. Whilst this is understandable if there is no general manager to assist then this becomes problematic. - There is a restaurant in the hotel. Disappointingly there are not many loatian dishes on the menu. There is also some confusion on the menu around the difference between a crème brûlée and a crème caramel. The restaurant is advertising a crème brûlée but is serving a crème caramel. The drinks menu is also lacking - there are no soft drinks other than coke and 7up so a gin and tonic is put do they question. - Breakfast was disappointing. We both ordered the pancakes and we were served 3 slices of a cake type thing. The portion was very small and not satisfactory. There was no juice available at all and the only coffee that could be made was an Americano even though there was a fully functioning coffee machine. This hotel is not cheap and markets itself as a 4 star hotel but those items referred to above are not what is expected of a 4 star hotel. As it stands we feel that unless the above items are remedied then the hotel is over priced and not delivering what is required.

We visited here in August 2020 shortly after the hotel opened and a few months before the COVID lockdown and it is so great to see the hotel is still as good as it was the first time. The rooms are delightful, the bedding, towels and amenities are world class, the hotel staff are amazing, the food is delicious and the village around the hotel is quiet but atmospheric. My favourite feature at the hotel are the floor tiles in the bedrooms - stylish and so comfortable under foot. In fact this place has everything - even a garden along the Mekong. We stayed both times in one of the two ground floor flats opposite the main hotel - garden/river side. It has a bedroom and an entrance study with desk and a sofa bed plus a terrace to sit outside when it is a little cooler in the rainy season. If you are looking for a quiet weekend getaway then this is an excellent place to come.

The Residence Bassac hotel in Champasak was an absolute gem! From the moment I stepped into the property, I was greeted with warm hospitality and outstanding service. The luxurious rooms were spacious, well-appointed, and provided breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The hotel's attention to detail was exceptional, ensuring a comfortable stay for all guests. The on-site restaurant offered delectable, authentic cuisine that surpassed all expectations. I cannot recommend Residence Bassac enough – a truly unforgettable experience in Champasak.

This is a very charming boutique hotel in a lovely position on the Meekong. The rooms are elegant and the modest breakfast is tasty. The staff are attentive. The hotel is near several excellent local restaurants and is an excellent base to see Vat Phu, the Bolivar Plateau and Four Thousand Islands.

I loved this hotel in Champasak. It was so tranquil and friendly. Loved going to the back garden and sitting on the Mekong river to read. The staff were friendly and so helpful. The food was amazing, with a good mix of western and local food. I would definately recommend this little gem of a hotel for pure relaxation and enjoying your time in Laos. Visiting Wat Phou early in the morning was a must, and I would have liked to visit Si Phan Don, but that was expensive as I was by myself so I will plan that for next time as its another 2-2.5 hours away. They have a good mix of bedroom styles, and I had a suite which had a very comfy bed and a seperate lounge area so I could watch the goings on along the street. The prices for everything were in USD, which is fine but things are more expensive overall here compared to other parts of Laos I have visited. This I can understand as everything has to be brought into the region. I would recommend that the hotel considers putting in a swimming pool in their back garden, as this would be a fantastic bonus based on the heat/weather. After exploring its so nice to have a cooling dip, or a lovely area to chill with a good book. Thank you to the wonderful team for such a beautiful stay and experience in Champasak!
