Located in the historic centre of Troyes the Maison de Rhodes is centred around an ancient garden. The restoration of this former property of the Knights of Malta was entrusted to the Compagnons du Devoir which has restored this medieval house to its former glory. The bedrooms feature Chassagne stone floors or hexagonal-floor tiles and splendid timber framing. The decoration is a contemporary take on the original 17th century design with its reworked panelling and tinted beams. This journey back in time continues all the way to the hotels comfortable beds Decorated with crimson curtains the restaurant is renowned for its organic cuisine. A swimming pool has recently been built in the garden.

I stayed for the second time, and I felt that it was not as good as the previous treatment. I didn't say that I changed the room I booked. Fabulous spot right next to the cathedral so beautiful & definitely recommend a balcony room facing out to the cathedral. Loved this quirky hotel which was once a fire station very modern but with touches of old features towards its former use. The staff went above and beyond to make are break perfect (to booking a restaurant for us to valet parking and just being friendly and helpful)We sipped champagne at the front of the hotel restaurant outside with a back drop of the cathedral. Must just mention the delicious breakfast too.

La chambre était magnifique ! en fait plutôt un appartement qu'une chambre... dommage d'être seule pour en profiter, mais c'est le jeu quand on voyage pour le travail. Propre, et bien décoré, le seul bémol (de taile pourtant) est la difficulté à avoir de l'eau chaude. Un bug de chaudière certainement.
