Don’t underestimate the ability of your compatriots to selfishly ignore signs in plain sight and general resort etiquette. The Malua Pool and Jacuzzi with swim-up bar were consistently overrun with babies and children (divebombing, shouting, wearing swim-nappies, etc) despite signs asking them to use the Niku Maru family pool, bar and grill area right next door in order to preserve the adult environment. We ended up trying to time our pool visits while families were having lunch and dinner to avoid the lack of serenity. We were also woken up a number of mornings by children yelling and running around outside our bure. It would be worth considering an adults only resort to avoid the unreliability of many parents to notice the impact their children’s behaviour has on others (in particular dads who model poor pool behaviour). Staff are super friendly and lovely. They provided great recommendations for things to do. Dave at the bar kept us supplied with terrific cocktails. The spa had great massages. Note: unlimited packages are actually bulk packs of 3 or more massages which can be booked throughout your stay. The accommodation feels spacious with its high ceilings. Great to have the choice between air-con and ceiling fans. Suitable for couples, families or friends. Recommend the south beach bures at the far end for anyone seeking quiet enjoyment. The restaurants are good. There is a different themed buffet each night e.g. Indian, seafood, Fijian, etc. There are plenty of options at the buffet and on the a la cart menus to cater for a wide range of tastes. The resort has excellent areas for snorkeling. The coral and sea life was amazing to see. Dive shop staff were really friendly and helpful.
